The word "peace" has been named the Oxford Children's Word of the Year for 2025, reflecting the strong awareness of current global events among young people. Here at Peacemakers building peace in our different communities with young people at the heart is the core of what we do. We are continually reassured by young people.

Young people from across the UK have voted for 'peace' as the Oxford Children's Word of the Year 2025, with 'six-seven' voted as their slang word of the year.

We have had a really interesting conversation with leaders in a school in Birmingham who have introduced Peace Circles to their school week. Regular structured times for relationship building has helped the school community in many different ways. They found the structure useful when dealing with a major incident outside the school gates.
