Are you interested in having conversations about climate action with local decision makers ahead of May's local elections, but not sure where to start? Do you want to raise concerns about the rising cost of energy and changing priorities with candidates? We have just the thing for you!

As part of our Fair Green Future webinar series, we are hosting a session on 20 March on how WI members can influence positive climate action in their communities. We will explore who is most affected by climate change, why fairness matters, and how communities can help shape solutions that work for everyone. You will also discover practical ways to get involved in local decision making, as part of preparation for the local elections in May.

On 10 March 5.30-7.00pm, the Women’s Grassroots Activism project is hosting an online International Women’s Day roundtable event, where you can hear from academics and women’s group representatives, including NFWI.

Over the past few years, the NFWI has been participating as a stakeholder in the project: ""Agency and Advocacy: Locating Women's Grassroots Activism in England and Ireland, 1918 to the present"". The project set out to identify how grassroots women’s organisations, can co-identify strategies to safeguard their future activities and activism for the next 100+ years.

At the roundtable, you will hear from speakers reflecting on the important history of on-going activism of voluntary women’s organisations across Britain and Ireland! The event will also feature a toolkit launch, which WI members will have access to, which will detail some of these strategies to safeguard future activities and activism.
