Where does the £10 actually go?

It goes to the iWaqf Charitable Trust, where it is pooled and invested into Shariah-compliant property and assets. The returns go to the causes you chose.

The £10 itself stays, permanently, but that cycle repeats forever.

Give once, and give forever.

Most financial structures a person builds are designed to dissolve when they die — accounts closed, assets distributed, giving stopped.

A Waqf is the opposite. Because the principal stays locked, returns keep flowing, and you keep earning deeds.

Death is not the end of a Waqf, but rather the moment the Waqf was always built for.

For most of Islamic history, creating a Waqf meant owning something significant — a well, a field, a building, and most Muslims never qualified.

That assumption was never a Shariah requirement, but rather a practical limitation.

The World Fiqh Council's fatwa on cash Waqf changed it. The door has been open for a while now, but most Muslims just haven't been told.

Zakat and Waqf are not the same thing, and that distinction matters more than most Muslims realise.

Zakat is a pillar. It’s obligatory, annual and immediate. It reaches people who need help right now.

While a Waqf is a structure. It is voluntary, permanent and compounding. It reaches people who haven't been born yet.

There is a difference between giving and building.

Giving is an act, it ends when it is completed.

While building is a structure, it keeps going after the builder is gone.

Most Muslims are taught the first. Almost none are taught the second, even though Islam designed a vehicle for it over 1,400 years ago.

The fast of Ashura has been observed for 3,000 years, and some acts of acknowledgement, once begun, have a way of continuing on their own — finding new hands to carry them forward long after the first ones are gone.

That is what happens when gratitude is given the right structure.

The library that helped map the world and advance medicine was built by a single act of endowment, and it kept producing scholars and knowledge long after the person who gave it was gone.
