Parent Support Session โ€“ Sip & Share ๐Ÿค

Weโ€™re creating a safe, supportive space for parents to come together and talk openly about the realities of youth violence and knife crime, and how we can better support our young people.

Two children. Just 14 and 15 years old attacked with a machete outside a shop.

Another community left shaken.

This was a targeted attack, in a public place. While their injuries are thankfully not believed to be life-threatening, the trauma doesnโ€™t end at hospital doors. These boys will carry this moment โ€” and so will their families, their schools, and their community.

This is the reality too many young people are growing up with.

Weapons on our streets. Fear replacing freedom. Childhood interrupted.

We cannot normalise this.

We cannot accept this as โ€œjust another incidentโ€.
Our children deserve safety, not survival.

๐Ÿ–ค Our thoughts are with the boys and everyone affected.

๐Ÿ–ค Rest in Power, Drew McCormick ๐Ÿค

A young life has been lost following a fatal stabbing in Wythenshawe. Drew McCormick, a man in his 20s, has been named as the victim of this tragic incident on Southwick Road, Northern Moor, Manchester.

Friends have described Drew as funny, loving, and caring โ€” someone who brought light and energy into the lives of those around him. His loss will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and the wider community.

Knife violence continues to take lives far too early. Each incident leaves lasting pain, unanswered questions, and communities trying to make sense of another preventable tragedy.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected at this incredibly difficult time. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ•ŠRest in Power. Another life taken far too soon๐Ÿ•Š

This tragic incident is a stark reminder of how youth violence continues to devastate lives, families, and entire communities.

The loss of a young life extends far beyond those closest to them, leaving a lasting impact on communities, students, and residents who deserve to feel safe in the places where they live, study, and grow.

We exist because these moments are not isolated tragedies โ€” they are part of a wider, ongoing issue that demands prevention, education, and community-led intervention.

As investigations continue, it is vital that communities come together not only in grief, but in purpose โ€” to support one another, challenge the causes of youth violence, and work collectively toward safer futures for young people.

Our thoughts are with the 16-year-old boy, his family, and everyone affected following a stabbing on Old Walsall Road, Hamstead, on Sunday 1 February โค๏ธ

Incidents like this shake communities, especially when they involve young people. The physical injuries may heal, but the emotional impact can last far longer, for the young person, their loved ones, and those who witnessed or were nearby.

At SYKC, we continue to stand for prevention, education, and early intervention, working to protect young lives and build safer communities where young people feel supported, not at risk.

โค๏ธ Every young life matters.
๐Ÿ–ค Prevention over reaction.
๐Ÿค Community before headlines.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Rest in Power

A 16-year-old boy has tragically lost his life following a stabbing in London Road, Chippenham, Wiltshire, on Saturday afternoon. He was found seriously injured shortly before 4:00pm and later died as a result of his injuries.

Another young life gone far too soon. Another family devastated. Another community left asking how this keeps happening.

Knife crime is not a statistic, it is children, futures, families and entire communities being torn apart. This cannot be normalised. Prevention, early intervention, and real support for young people must be prioritised before more lives are lost.

๐Ÿ’› Our thoughts are with his loved ones and the wider Chippenham community.

๐Ÿ“ Carshalton โ€“ High Street, near Grove Park

๐Ÿ“… 27 January 2026

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being injured in a stabbing on High Street near Grove Park in Carshalton. Emergency services attended the scene shortly before 1.50pm. The young person sustained a slash injury to the stomach and was taken to hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made at this stage.

Incidents like this remind us that youth violence is not isolated โ€” it impacts families, neighbourhoods, and communities long after the scene has cleared.
At SYKC, we believe real prevention starts long before harm occurs.

Trust, early support, and community-led intervention are essential in steering young people away from violence and towards safer futures.

Our thoughts are with the young person involved and those affected ๐Ÿ–ค
