Spare Room avalible?????
Could you become an Amici Host & provide a room for someone who has expereinced homelessness?

Standing Tall is a Birmingham not-for-profit that matches individuals who have experienced homelessness into stable jobs in local businesses. Alongside this, we ensure these individuals have a safe home to come back to through our ‘Amici’ hosting service. If you have a spare room and empathy, you could become an ‘Amici’ host. Standing Tall will support you to welcome an individual into your home in full-time work for 6 months and you’ll be paid an extra income of £500 per month. To find out more, visit www.standingtall.org.uk/become-an-amici or call 0121 517 0659

This is an archive page of the Birmingham Churches Winter Nightshelter which ceased operation in 2018. When relevant we will share other homelessness & poverty related information here.

The shelter ran for 7 years from 2012 – 2018. It consisted of 18 churches from across Birmingham who tookit in terms to host 12 men experiencing street homelessness as their guests for 12 weeks. They offered guests, hot dinner, a warm bed and breakfast.
Key organisations who supported the shelter project continue to support people experiencing homelessness. We would want to thanks and commend the work of Birmingham City Mission Care Centre, Reach Out Network, Tabor House (Birmingham’s permanent night shelter), and Crisis.
Thrive Together Birmingham, who coordinated the shelter, continue in their work of supporting churches and communities to tackle poverty and build community. To find out more about the work of Thrive Together Birmingham see our website: thrivetogetherbham.org or follow us on facebook or twitter:
