We’re delighted to celebrate Natasha today, our Reception and Administration Assistant, as she marks an incredible 20 years of service with Autism West Midlands! 💙

For two decades, Natasha has been a friendly and welcoming face at Head Office who helps to keep everything running smoothly and is always willing to support all colleagues, visitors and the people we work with.

Her dedication, reliability, commitment and knowledge over the past 20 years has made a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed to Autism West Midlands during that time.

Join us on Tuesday 13 October at 10am for a one-off webinar exploring sensory differences and how they can affect autistic people.

We’ll cover sensory experiences, anxiety, understanding sensory differences and adapting environments to provide support.

📺 Can’t attend live? A recording will be available for two weeks afterwards.

Everyone had the chance to learn more about staying safe at home, understanding the risks linked to hoarding and simple ways to prevent fires and keep us and others safe.

A 6-week programme for parents and carers of autistic children, designed to build understanding, confidence and practical strategies to support the autistic young person in your care.

Across the six sessions, we’ll explore:
Autism as a spectrum
Communication
Anxiety
Sensory differences
…and much more.

Our Autism Specialist Advisers will deliver the sessions, sharing knowledge and practical strategies to help you better understand and support the autistic young person you care for.

They enjoyed a boat trip where they were lucky enough to spot dolphins 🐬 before taking a dip in the sea. They also visited the House of Illusion and had a brilliant evening enjoying an ABBA tribute! 🎶✨

📢 We’re hiring!

We’re looking for an Autism Specialist Advisor – Community Services (Families) to join our team and support autistic children, young people and their families across Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country.

💜 This role will focus on helping children and families access the right support within their local communities, building confidence, resilience and skills to live happy and fulfilling lives.

🚗 Full driving license and access to a car essential

The role will involve working as part of our Community Services team, with opportunities to contribute to other projects supporting autistic people across the region.
