Our CPD Accredited Hidden Victims training will be delivered on Tuesday 29th September. For this scheduled session we will be presenting strand 1 of 3 - the prisoner’s strand, delivered by a qualified Counselling Psychologist with specialist experience and knowledge.

This CPD Accredited programme is designed to better equip frontline professionals and community advocates supporting people who are currently navigating the Criminal Justice System, are at risk of entering it, or are engaging with it in some way.

Who is this training for?
This programme is particularly relevant to frontline professionals, practitioners and community advocates working with individuals and families affected by the Criminal Justice System.

It may be particularly valuable for those working across:
Social care
Health and wellbeing
Criminal justice
Probation services
Community and voluntary organisations
Family support
Youth and community services
Education
Advocacy and support services

Why attend?
This training provides an opportunity to move beyond simply understanding the Criminal Justice System and consider the people and families navigating it.

You will gain greater insight into the experiences of those who can often feel unheard or overlooked, while developing strategies to support individuals and families in a way that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive and human-centred.

This is an all day training and will be delivered online.

Want to know what it’s like to join a placement at Himaya Haven?

Read Aliya’s full experience below:

Overall, I had a great experience at Himaya Haven.
The team were very welcoming and friendly. I got to gain many new experiences such as visiting prisons, court and partaking in coffee mornings where I really got to understand the perspectives of the clients for my development as a social worker.

I really got the opportunity to work on my professional development as a Social Work student and I am forever grateful to Himaya Haven staff for making my first placement so great and memorable.

We’re proud to support students as they develop their skills, gain practical experience and build a deeper understanding of the impact imprisonment can have on families.
