Have you read the latest LionHeart Impact Report yet?

On average, we were helping 167 people on any given day in 2025/26, approving grants of almost £380,000 and giving thousands of hours of counselling, advice and confidential support to surveyors and their families.

Almost a fifth of people called the helpline due to poor mental health, including stress and burnout. 1 in 10 were specifically seeking counselling, while 2 to 3 people a month were so desperate they had expressed thoughts of su***de.

Your donations keep us there, year after year, when your fellow professionals need somewhere to turn. Take a look at the report to find out more about how we're making a difference, and give us a call if you think you could use some help, too: https://www.lionheart.org.uk/our-impact

What happens in Drum Club, stays in Drum Club, apparently... but what we can tell you from our summer staff away day today is that we're still beautifully in sync, or drum from the same hymn sheet or, err, something... 😂
A great day of spending time together as a team (although, it turns out that Jenga can bring out the more competitive side in people 👀🤫)

"When you think about preparing for retirement, probably the first thing that springs to mind is your pension pot – but actually good health, both physical and mental, and retirement (or a more enjoyable retirement) must go hand in hand," says our ambassador Graham Munday.

"Sadly, not everyone is blessed with good health, as my own family experience shows. I lost my wife aged 44, my mother at 58, and my father at 70 – so only enjoying 5 years of retirement between them. As my experience shows, unfortunately there will always be health issues beyond our control but, that said, there is much we can control to help have a full and enjoyable retirement – and these are the things we need to think about more than we perhaps do."

This Men's Health Week, Graham shares how he is approaching this new phase in his life in this blog, Your retirement 'health pot': https://www.lionheart.org.uk/blog/your-retirement-health-pot

It’s something you’ve been working to for months, if not years. The RICS APC process itself can be stressful and demanding, and we know that candidates are often full of anxiety and nerves before final panel approaches.

If you don’t get the result you’ve worked so hard for, it can really knock you for six.

You might feel like you’re the only person who didn’t make it. In fact, some of the most successful chartered surveyors took more than one go to get those letters after their name.

But being referred doesn’t mean you’ll never be chartered - it just means not now.

There are so many ways the experienced team at LionHeart can help, from counselling and emotional support, to coaching style sessions to improve your confidence as well as interview and presentation practice.

Take a look at our website or give the team a call free on 0800 009 2960.

We're so excited to have a gang of intrepid fundraisers scaling new heights for LionHeart in June - tackling mountains and miles in support of their professional charity.

🙌 A 15-strong team of property professionals, backed by Pick Everard and captained by Jack Footer, are gearing up to take on the Three Peaks Challenge within 24 hours over the weekend of June 20-21.

🙌 On the same weekend, LionHeart ambassador Jordanne Dunn MRICS will also be taking on the ‘Welsh 3000s’ - climbing all 15 peaks over 3,000ft in Snowdonia in 24 hours (a mere 30 miles and 4,000m of ascent in a single continuous hike 👀)

🙌 Meanwhile, 65 surveyors from all over the UK are pounding trails and pavements throughout June in the 50 Firm & Faculty Foot Challenge, organised by SDL Surveying - in the first week alone, they've notched up 570km and have already raised more than £2,000 between them 🙏

Faye Smith, LionHeart’s supporter engagement and fundraising manager, said: “We feel so fortunate to have so many people who are prepared to - quite literally - go the extra mile to support LionHeart as their professional charity. We wish them all the best!
“In the week that we have published our latest annual Impact Report, it’s worth recognising that everything we do to support the surveying community is actually only possible with the support of the surveying community in turn. So a huge thank you to everyone who is undertaking fundraising, and to all those who are making donations too - thanks to you we are continuing to make a difference when people really need somewhere to turn.”

Walking alongside somebody during their moment of need. That's how our brilliant support services team sometimes describe their work - and we're so proud to share the difference that's made in our latest annual Impact Report.

Behind each of the facts and figures is a real person; someone just like you who hit a bump in the road. On average, our support services team was helping 167 different people on any given day in 2025/26.

🧡 We approved grants worth £380,000 to support more than 180 people facing financial crisis.
🧡 Our team delivered 1,350 hours of professional counselling - and thousands more hours of advice, guidance and emotional support.
🧡 Almost a fifth of people called the helpline due to poor mental health, including stress, with 1 in 10 specifically seeking counselling.
2 to 3 people a month were so desperate they had expressed thoughts of su***de.
🧡 We helped hundreds more with work related or legal problems, in total offering support in 30 different countries.

Whatever the circumstance, it's our privilege to walk a mile or two alongside, offering confidential support and counsel; somewhere to turn when life is challenging.

Finally, our thanks to all those in the surveying community who have supported LionHeart in turn over the past year - without whom none of this would be possible. It's your support that means we're here for your fellow professionals when they need it.

From our team to yours... If you're a surveyor, the chances are you *might* have seen some posts from people who have thrown themselves into the start of a month-long fundraising challenge for LionHeart this week.

We're so grateful to have support like this from the surveying community and have loved seeing and hearing all the daily updates. The challengers have already raised more than £2,000, which is just amazing! Some of our team have been busy writing good luck and thank you cards to encourage participants to keep going (despite some decidedly dodgy weather!)

Quite simply, there wouldn't be a LionHeart without your donations and fundraising efforts - so from our team to yours, thank you so much 🧡🙏

Take a look at the FREE* webinars we're offering to RICS professionals during June! Inspired by Men's Health Week, we have a brand new session on men's health and nutrition which looks at how what you eat can affect key aspects of health, from heart and gut health, to stress and hormone levels - including the so-called male menopause.

Sticking with the health and wellbeing theme, we'll also be running Move Well to Stay Well, which looks at how simple movement incorporated into your day can benefit body and mind.

And next week, we'll be sharing ways you can train your brain to become more confident.
