Following the AGM meetings of the British Allied Trades Federation, The National Association of Jewellers and The Giftware Association, industry charity, The Benevolent Society will be hosting a memorable dinner at the stunning Warwick Castle.

Guests will enjoy:

“16.5k steps at the Lady Mayor’s Parade. Gay had the pleasure of walking with the Goldsmiths’ float, representing the jewellers and silversmiths of BenSoc. Wonderful atmosphere, vibrant bands, and plenty of cheerful waving!”

In 2024, The Benevolent Society has provided more than £154,000 in beneficiary payments – supporting cost-of-living grants and one-off essential funds for white goods, disability aids and critical home repairs.

Alongside that immediate support, we remain dedicated to long-term professional enablement.

The Society continues to invest in people who want to grow, retrain, change direction and invest in their future careers — through bursaries.

Since 2016, more than 90 bursaries have been awarded — totalling £307,322.

This is impact that changes someone’s day today — and impact that changes someone’s trajectory for decades.

I would especially like to thank President and The Benevolent Society Vice Chair Gary Wroe, former NAJ President David Doyle, and Cooksongold’s Stuart Wibberley for their great participation on the night.”

Join us for an evening filled with love and laughter

What we achieve last year…

During the Christmas Ball, special prizes, including a spitfire flight across the English countryside, a commemorative bowl crafted by renowned silversmith Andrew McGowan, and a pair of Liberty luxury advent calendars were auctioned by Cooksongold Sales Director Stuart Wibberley, raising more than £10,000 for the Society’s activities in 2025. The Assay Office Birmingham also presented a cheque for £1,200 as part of its ongoing commitment to The Benevolent Society. In total, more than £28,000 was raised, which will contribute towards the charity’s activities in 2025.

All this helps our industries in so many ways.
