Emerge is our trans and non binary youth group for ages 13 to 18 (up to 19th birthday). We had the pleasure of hosting two of them at this years Birmingham Pride parade, where they made banners and got in the Pride spirit! πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

Emerge offers a place to be yourself and to gain friendships whilst taking part in a variety of well-being related activities, workshops and fun social activities to help grow your confidence and self-esteem. We have a budget which the young people can use to arrange their own trips and activities. Activities can be chosen by the young people who attend and are supported by our youth workers.

Great to attend the Dudley Safe & Sound conference yesterday at the DY1 Community Building, bringing together services to focus on how we can better support male victims of domestic abuse.

Ask Marc delivered a session exploring how male victims may present and the barriers they can face when reporting abuse. It was an important opportunity to share learning, challenge perceptions, and highlight where support systems can improve.

A big thank you to Dudley borough Safe and Sound for organising such a valuable event, and to colleagues from Birmingham LGBT, Roshni Birmingham, Change Grow Live, Barnardo's and National Centre for Domestic Violence - NCDV for their insights on how we can continue to strengthen responses for men experiencing abuse.
