Lunar New Year Celebrations returns to Chinatown with a bang.

What an amazing day Sunday was at the Birmingham Chinese New Year Festival! 🐉🐎

Chinatown was packed from late morning to the fireworks finale, with tens of thousands of people celebrating together. The atmosphere was incredible all day — thank you to everyone who joined us and to all our sponsors, partners, performers, traders and volunteers who made it possible.

Everything is coming together for today’s Birmingham Chinese New Year Celebrations 2026 in Chinatown and the energy is already building.

Come down and join us later for a full day of celebrations — including lion and dragon dances, live performances, street food, cultural activities, market stalls… and don’t miss Pom Pom, our 10-ft panda making special appearances! 🐼
