Where should we plant new trees in Soho and Jewellery Quarter? 🌲🤔

Me and Su are working with Birmingham Tree People and local partners to plant between 20-40 new trees in the ward 🙂

These trees will be between 5-10 years old, so will be quite big already - we want you to tell us where to plant them 🌲

More trees means more shade, cooler temperatures, less flooding and an improved environment - we are making Soho and JQ ward safer, cleaner and greener 🌲

a story with a twist... and not a good one 😢

> building materials dumped in 2020 on Ashwin Road
> legitimate looking fence appears saying 'Footway Closed'
> no one clears it so more is dumped over 6 years
> we got it cleared within a few months 🙌

BUT THEN THE NEXT DAY 2 BAGS OF SAND WERE BACK? 😢

genuinely felt sick when i saw them again - back to step 1 😭

we will continue pushing 🙏🏽

seeing the work Stryx do in the jewellery quarter is quite simply amazing ♥️

now, they are supporting women-owned businesses - including a new nursery and Sams Vegan Delights whose amazing vegan caribbean food you can check out there every saturday between 4-8 😋

it was a pleasure to meet the team at Deeper Life Bible Church in Winson Green 🙏

they have an incredibly talented congregation and do so much in the local community ♥️

i moved over 200 bins whilst Paul was able to clean sidewalks that hadn't been done properly in years 👍

People have been stopping me in the street to talk about badly managed supported exempt accommodation 🙏🏼

Neighbours, tenants, and even providers 😭

Vulnerable tenants are being let down. Streets are being destroyed. Whole communities are being torn apart.

All because of greed and a lack of care.

Me and Su will keep pushing - we will fight for our communities and stand up for everyone impacted by badly run supported housing.

me and su are so grateful to the amazing neighbours in our local community ☺️

our surgeries often start with talking about issues, but end in sharing memories, positive energy and a beautiful sense of hope ♥️

parking on markby road is incredibly limited - but this car had been parked for 4 years on the road without moving 🤦‍♂️

it was SORN but parked on the public highway - so we worked for several months got it removed 🫡

now, it's gone - me and su are focused on action, short and long term! ☺️
