KHAR AGM 2026✨ one of our favourite days of the year, reflecting on our progress, successes and why we do what we do. We get so excited projecting forwards to our projects and plans for the next year. We will continue working hard to support refugees in Birmingham, as well as overall social change. On Sunday our merry band of 20 elves (volunteers - seen here enjoying a well deserved samosa break!) came together to pack and deliver 846 packs of winter packs for Refugees in our city. 5 years ago we were just doing 65 packs - boy have we upped our game. This has rapidly become one of our favourite Christmas traditions!

The packs had toiletries, chocolate, a small gift and practical items like socks, gloves and a hat, each pack different to the next plus we had a whole box of toys for the children!

Thanks to all our volunteers who helped pack and distribute, everyone who bought and donated a pack, a T-Shirt, a keyring or shared a post for us. We couldn't do this without you!

And to the KHAR committee - who give up their time, skills and creativity and share their passion for making the world a better place, I couldn't be more proud!

This Giving Tuesday, we’re pleased to update you on our Winter Pack fundraising progress! 🫶🏻

With just under two weeks to go until winter pack day, we are just shy of 50% of our goal.

We appreciate that times are tight, but please do check out our online store to see if any of our clothing, accessories or artworks could have extra impact this year by also supporting refugees in the local community 🎁

Every item purchased and donation made directly supports refugees rebuilding their lives in Birmingham.

We couldn't be prouder of our new merch!

This T-Shirt has been inspired by the work of local printer and mixed-media street artist Wilko and one of Birmingham's best loved poets, Benjamin Zephaniah and his poem, People Need People.

Birmingham born Benjamin believed communities thrive when we lift each other up. In a time where communities are being divided, hatred towards refugees is rising and those who have different life experiences are being demonised, it felt more important than ever to celebrate the ways in which communities and people need each other!
