๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ Donโ€™t just take our word for it, hear it from the riders! ๐Ÿ’›

Yesterday, our Legacy WM Menโ€™s Cycling Group got back on the road, getting active, enjoying the ride and spending time together.

But what makes these sessions really special is hearing directly from the men who take part. In this video, our riders share what the cycling group means to them, from getting out and staying active to meeting new people, building confidence and feeling part of a community.

๐Ÿšฒ Itโ€™s more than cycling.
๐Ÿค Itโ€™s connection.
๐Ÿ’ฌ Itโ€™s conversation.
๐Ÿ’› Itโ€™s community.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday and to our riders for sharing their experiences.

What does getting out on your bike mean to you? ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿก Could your organisation help build a new cohousing community in Birmingham?

Housing 21 is inviting experienced organisations to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to become the Facilitation Partner for the proposed Barn Lane Cohousing scheme.

Following the completion of our flagship Rupali Court scheme in Birmingham in March 2026, Barn Lane forms an important part of Housing 21โ€™s Cohousing Strategy.

The proposed scheme will provide:

๐Ÿ›๏ธ 23 one-bedroom homes
๐Ÿ›๏ธ 6 two-bedroom homes
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Homes for people aged 55+
๐Ÿ’ท Primarily social rent for local people
๐Ÿค Delivered with Bespoke Construction Services Limited

Housing 21โ€™s Cohousing model aims to create intentional communities โ€” giving future residents opportunities to build relationships, develop shared values and help shape their future community before they move in.

Housing 21 are looking for a Facilitation Partner with experience in community engagement, resident-led groups, capacity building, diverse communities and cohousing/community-led housing.

๐Ÿก Looking ahead to an exciting new chapter for Legacy WM

Our recent Staff & Board Away Day gave us the chance to come together, reflect on our work, and most importantly, look towards the future.

One of the key conversations was our exciting move to Lea Hall which we hope will become our new home and an important space for our future work with the community.

We also had the opportunity to look at the architectural plans and discuss what we envision Lea Hall becoming in the years ahead.

Our ambition is to create a welcoming space that brings people together, supports our community programmes, celebrates heritage and culture, and provides new opportunities for local people.

Thereโ€™s lots of work still to do, but weโ€™re excited about what lies ahead. ๐Ÿ’›

This is just a glimpse of the vision and weโ€™ll be sharing more of the journey with you along the way.

We were delighted to welcome our international guest Hannah, who travelled all the way from Belgium to explore Birmingham's rich history and heritage.

Our lovely Marcia had the pleasure of giving Hannah a mini tour, showcasing just some of the incredible stories, landmarks, and diverse cultures that make our city so unique.

It's always wonderful to connect with people who share our passion for history and community. Thank you for visiting us Hannah, we hope you enjoyed your time in Birmingham and look forward to welcoming you back in the future! ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽจโœจ The journey officially begins!

Our BADA Commission artists came together for their induction session, where they met their chosen mentors for the very first time. It was an inspiring afternoon filled with introductions, ideas, and exciting conversations about what's to come.

Having the opportunity to learn from experienced creatives is a huge part of the programme, giving each artist the support, guidance, and confidence to develop their practice and bring their commission to life.

We can't wait to follow their creative journeys and share their progress with you over the coming months. Watch this space... ๐Ÿ‘€

A huge congratulations once again to all of our commission winners. We're so excited to see what you create! ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ  Building more than homes, we're building hope.

Legacy WM CEO Aftab Rahman recently joined BBC WM presenter Mya Khan to share the story behind one of our most ambitious international initiatives yet: the 1,000 Homes Project.

During the interview, Aftab spoke about why safe, secure housing matters so much for vulnerable families in Bangladesh, and how a home can provide more than shelter. It can bring security, dignity, stability and hope for a brighter future.

The 1,000 Homes Project is about creating safer communities, giving children a better place to grow and helping families rebuild their lives after hardship.

Weโ€™re incredibly grateful to Mya Khan and the BBC WM team for helping us raise awareness of this important campaign and the difference our supporters can make.

Together, we can do more than build houses, we can build futures. โค๏ธ
