The Old Print Works

A community space, hub of making, creating, the arts, connecting, learning/sharing. We can provide affordable, unique workspaces for Birmingham makers.

Home to The GAP, The Transfer co-working space, Sundragon Pottery, Daily Thread community textiles and more.. Shared units can be hired from as little as £25 per week. We also have a lovely co-working space called The Transfer. Come for a free trial day. www.thetransfer.org.uk. We also have areas available for use as a venue, for events/ exhibitions/meetings/training sessions and workshops on a short term basis. We are also a great filming and photo backdrop.

Cafe opportunity - deadline for applications 8am Monday 20th April - link in bio

We are looking for a partner to run the cafe at The Old Print Works. The cafe is an important part of our community, serving our co-workers, studio holders and local people.

The cafe at The Old Print Works was set up in 2011, and expanded in 2020. It has had a number of operators during this time, serving a variety of food and beverages. The cafe is an intimate space, located on Moseley Road opposite Moseley Road Baths, serving a diverse community. The space acts as an introduction to art and makers at The Old Print Works, and is used to exhibit community art and host events.

We want the cafe to be successful and will help promote it through our social media channels. Regular reviews in the first 6 months will ensure a smooth partnership.

We will be showing interested people the space at 5pm on Thursday 9th April, 1pm on Tuesday 14th April and 5pm on Wednesday 15th April. Please let us know at [email protected] if you would like to join us either of these viewings.

Our co-working space The Transfer is open, warm and affordable.

We decided yesterday to cancel Balsall Heath Second Saturday tomorrow, due to severe weather warnings, but we’ll see you on 14th Feb!

We are pleased to announce that our charity finally owns The Old Print Works, thanks to a loan from Unity Trust Bank and capital funding by UK Government, with revenue funding for the process from UK Government, Architectural Heritage Fund, Reach Fund and assistance from Locality.

Rhythms for Life - beginners' percussion workshop for mind and body

Re-evolutionary percussion and dance workshop for the mind and body. This session is suitable for those with little or no experience.

Please come to the courtyard entrance of The Old Print Works. Session held in a wheelchair-accessible space. Sessions run by Richard Sealy, a percussionist of 40+ years' experience. Rhythms learned will be based around the Afro diasporas, including Brazil, South America and the Caribbean.
