What an amazing Summer Camp at St Michael’s Primary School and Ward End Allotment! ☀️ It was full of fun, laughter and lots of great activities. The children enjoyed sports, arts and crafts, Forest School activities and looking after the chickens, including collecting eggs to take home! 🐔🥚

A big thank you to all our amazing staff for making sure the children were safe, happy and had a great time. We really appreciate all the time and effort you put in throughout the summer. ❤️

Week 3 🌞💚

Week 3 of our Youth Pathway Summer Camp is done!

We’ve had a lovely sunny week. The children enjoyed cooling down with ice lollies 🍦, planting in the allotment 🌱, and spending time at the school farm feeding the chickens and collecting eggs 🐔🥚.

Week 2 of our Youth Pathway Summer Camp is complete! 🌞💚

Another fantastic week filled with outdoor adventures, sports and plenty of fun! ⚽🌿 The children enjoyed exciting Forest School sessions 🌳, explored nature on our walks 🥾🍃, and had a great time picking fresh fruit at the allotments 🍓🍎. Bring it on Brum!

Week 1 of our Youth Pathway Summer Camp is complete! 🌞💚

What an amazing week at Ward End Allotment and St Michael’s School! The children had a fantastic time taking part in sports ⚽, outdoor learning 🌿 and hands on gardening 🌱.

It’s been great to see them learning new skills, building confidence, making friends, and creating lasting memories. We can’t wait for Week 2! 🙌 Bring it on Brum!

A brilliant morning of creativity and gardening with the children today! 🌿🐦

We started the session by making bird feeders for our gardens while talking about the different birds we might spot at home and around the allotment.

The children then helped water our plants before heading over to feed Buster the goat and the chickens.

To finish off, everyone enjoyed a healthy snack of refreshing watermelon and oranges, well deserved after a busy morning of crafting and gardening! 🍉🍊

A wonderful session full of creativity, nature, and teamwork. 💚

☀️ Another stunning sunny week across our two sites! 🌳

This week our focus was on the importance of trees. Our young gardeners explored nature by collecting leaves and creating beautiful leaf rubbing artwork using wax crayons, discovering the unique patterns and textures of different leaves.

We also planted strawberries and cucumbers, helping to grow even more fresh produce for the weeks ahead. To keep cool in the sunshine, everyone enjoyed a refreshing snack of juicy watermelon. 🍉

🌱 What a brilliant first gardening session at Ward End Allotments! 🌞

Our young gardeners got stuck in clearing the plot before working together in teams to decide which fruits and vegetables they’d like to grow, helping create a beautiful and productive allotment for everyone to enjoy. 🍅🥕🍓

We finished the session with some creative insect-themed crafts inspired by the wildlife we spotted around the allotment, before enjoying a healthy snack of fresh apples, strawberries and oranges in the glorious sunshine. 🍎🍓🍊

We can’t wait to see our allotment grow over the coming weeks! 💚
