☀️🐴 Sunny days, open space, and happy equines enjoying a run around the field…

A perfect, peaceful scene. 💚

The only tiny detail we’d like to ignore is that this wasn’t actually their field. 😅

While we were admiring their majestic galloping and carefree summer vibes, our equine residents had apparently decided that the grass really was greener on the other side and had taken themselves on an unscheduled excursion.

Still, it’s hard to stay cross when they’re looking this happy, stretching their legs in the sunshine and enjoying life to the fullest.

Everyone was safely returned to where they were supposed to be, but we’re fairly sure they’re already plotting their next adventure. 🫣🐴

🐈‍⬛😂 Norman every time he casually wanders next door and helps himself to a meal…

Norman: “Don’t mind me, just conducting an important inspection of the neighbouring food supplies.”

The confidence. The swagger. The complete lack of shame.

Why eat at home when you can convince multiple neighbours that you’re a poor, starving cat who has never been fed in his entire life? 😹

Don’t worry, Norman is very well fed. He just believes that every meal tastes better when somebody else is paying for it.

🐴✨ New fashion trend alert! ✨🐴

Ivory has been hard at work creating this season’s hottest look: Straw Chic™.

Featuring carefully placed pieces of straw, a completely effortless finish, and the confidence to wear it like it belongs on a runway, Ivory is clearly ahead of the fashion curve. 😌

Some might say she had a nap in the bedding. Ivory prefers to call it styling.

We’re expecting the major fashion houses to be in touch any day now. Until then, she’ll continue modelling her signature look around the field with absolutely no concern for what anyone thinks. 😂

🫏💧 Lacey: “WHOA.”

Meanwhile, us: “Girls… you already have an automatic drinker.” 🤦‍♀️

Apparently, nothing compares to standing by a freshly filled trough and drinking water straight from the hose as it’s pouring in. Never mind that they have access to clean, fresh water 24/7. That’s old news.

The second the hose comes out, it’s suddenly the finest dining experience in the county. ✨

The excitement. The fascination. The absolute disbelief that water could be this fresh.

Linda and Lacey were completely captivated, treating the occasion like they’d just discovered a natural spring in the wilderness rather than a member of staff holding a hosepipe. 😂

Donkeys: making everyday things exciting since forever. 💚

💚 What makes us happy?

This. 🐐🐑🫏🐴🐈‍⬛

The excited greetings each morning. The funny personalities. The friendships that form between different species. The animals who arrive needing help and the confidence they gain as they settle into sanctuary life.

Every wag, bray, bleat, purr, and happy zoomie reminds us why we do what we do.

Happyfields isn’t just a sanctuary. It’s a place where animals can feel safe, loved, and free to be themselves, whether that’s peacefully grazing in a field or causing absolute chaos five minutes after you’ve fixed something. 😆

These moments make the hard work worthwhile. These animals make us happy. 💚

🫏📸 We all have that one photo we’d rather never see posted on social media…

Unfortunately for Poppy, today is not that day. 😆

Caught mid-lick while enjoying her favourite salt lick, Poppy was giving us a facial expression that can only be described as… enthusiastic.

Proof that even the most beautiful mules have their less-than-glamorous moments! 💅✨

Thankfully, Poppy has absolutely no shame and is more than happy to sacrifice her dignity in the pursuit of tasty minerals. 😋

🫏🤦‍♀️ We use field-safe head collars on our donkeys because, quite frankly, they’re experts at finding trouble where no trouble should exist…

But how Linda managed to get hers into this position is anyone’s guess! 😳😂

We’ve investigated the scene, interviewed the witnesses, and reviewed the evidence. The conclusion? Linda is operating on a level of donkey logic far beyond our understanding.

Before anyone worries, she was spotted quickly, sorted immediately, and suffered no ill effects whatsoever. She is now back to her usual routine of supervising the sanctuary, demanding snacks, and generally causing low-level chaos. 💚

Honestly, with Linda around, there’s never a dull moment.
