Description
Smethwick Photographic Society is a friendly and welcoming camera club based at Oldbury in the West Midlands. Our aim is to encourage the enjoyment of photography and develop members’ skills whatever their level from novice to experienced, whether you have a compact camera, mobile phone or DSLR. We have a friendly and helpful membership with knowledge of both traditional and digital photographic techniques. We run a varied programme of talks, merit competitions, studio model evenings (members only) as well as running groups for those interested in audio visuals, nature and learning about technique – hopefully, something of interest for all. Our full programme of activities is published on our website
The clubhouse has a photographic studio, darkroom, library, a lounge area and a bar (great for socialising) and hangs exhibitions from RPS, FIAP and Midphot among others. The Society meets at The Old School House every Thursday evening (except over Christmas and New Year) – the doors open at 7.00pm and the meeting starts at 8pm. The meetings usually last between 1hour 30 minutes and 2 hours. New members and visitors are always welcome. If you have any queries, please contact the members of the committee. You can do this by sending a message here on Facebook or via the website. More details are available on the main website - http://www.smethwickps.co.uk
