Drumming Workshop with AFRO Creative Legacy CIC 🥁😁

Last week we joined AFRO Creative Legacy CIC at Nechells POD for their Connected in Rhythm workshop funded by Ladywood NNS!

Connected in Rhythm is a workshop for over 50's using African drumming as a way to reduce stress, enhance posture, make friends, boost confidence and much more! It was so empowering to be a part of and we can't wait for more 💛

A massive congratulations to AFRO Creative Legacy CIC for powering through the heat and putting on such a brilliant session 😊

Turning Community Insight into Action ✅😁

We had the pleasure of being joined by Denise from BVCS on Monday to learn about Turning Community Insight into Action!

Turning Community Insight into Action is a new programme, funded through BSol and Black Country ICB, that aims to turn existing community insight into practical changes that improve health and reduce inequalities in local neighbourhoods. 😊

The programme is about working with communities and local organisations to build on what people have already told us, rather than starting again with more consultation. We want to test small, practical ideas at micro-neighbourhood level and learn what makes a real difference. ❤️

Clothing Event at Ladywood Fire Station 😊❤️

Join West Midlands Fire Service next Monday as they open their doors to anyone in our community who might need a little extra support! There will be free clothing available for people to take away, support for those that need it, as well as hot drinks and biscuits 😋

On Monday 17 August, our team at Ladywood Fire Station will be opening their doors to anyone in our community who might need a little extra support.

From 10am-2pm, we’ll have free clothing available for people to take away, as well as hot drinks and biscuits. ☕️

If you, or someone you know could benefit from some of these items, please come along or share this post with them. Everyone will be very welcome, regardless of circumstances ❤️

Free creative drawing session for parents and children! 🌈✏️
Forget drawing perfectly, this session is all about drawing boldly, having fun and letting your imagination run wild!
Join On Your Feet and Shanti Aid for Pencil Folk, a special two-hour creative drawing session led by Birmingham children’s book illustrator Jess Mikhail.

Together, parents and children will:
🎨 Invent quirky characters
🎨 Create extraordinary worlds
🎨 Play collaborative drawing games
🎨 Embrace happy accidents and have plenty of laughs!
No artistic skills are needed — just bring your imagination and be ready to get creative together.

A truly joyful visit to St John's and St Peter's Church, Ladywood💛

It was such a pleasure to meet Anthonia, whose warmth and hospitality made the visit so special. She generously shared the wonderful work the church is doing to serve and support its local community, and it was inspiring to see such faith, compassion, and dedication in action. 😊

Thank you for such a warm welcome and for reminding me of the difference a caring church community can make. This is a visit I will remember with great fondness, and I look forward to visiting again soon!
