2nd Smiths Wood Scout Group Scout Group (Beavers and Cubs) for Smiths Wood Adventure is at the heart of everything we do. It is the single most important thing that sets Scouts apart.

Here we want to inform you about The Scout Association and the Group in Smiths Wood. It's exciting being involved with us. We believe that through the everyday adventure of Scouting, young people and adult volunteers regularly experience new challenges that enrich their lives.We offer hundreds of activities, as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, staged performance, paragliding, and archery. There’s something for every young person, whatever their physical ability.Hiking in the dark. Travelling across Poland with just a backpack and three friends. Spending the first night away from home. You can do it all with The Scout Association.Activities are an integral part of Scouting. But as well as being challenging physically, our activities help young people set and achieve goals and grow in confidence.

Ok, here are the details for getting to camp later today/tomorrow morning for drop off, and tomorrow evening/Sunday afternoon for pick-up!
There are two possible routes, one via Coleshill & Maxstoke, and one via Meriden - Google Maps for both are attached.
If you choose the Meriden route, please make sure that at Stonebridge roundabout you go straight over onto Kenilworth Road, not left onto Coventry Road. DO NOT TRUST THE SATNAV! The road that you would normally take off Coventry Road is apparently closed from today for around 4 days 😱 and the official diversion takes you almost to Coventry before bringing you back.

Look out for signs with the Solihull Scouts logo at the top, and "Event this way" or similar text in black capitals on a yellow background.

When you get to Packington Estate, there will be a traffic management company controlling who goes where & when, please follow their instructions. They are NOT related to Scouting, they are used by Packington Estate for events with large traffic flows. Please be nice to them!
As you get to the actual campsite, you will be directed to park & then walk your child/children to the "No-Car" zone marked out by purple flags.
Please bring all their kit with them. Either Raksha, Baloo or Bagheera will meet you there, take charge of any money, medication etc, give them the wristband they need to get in & out of the camp area and wave you goodbye!

Follow the traffic management directions to leave site - I'm not 100% certain, but I believe this will be exiting onto the A45 slip road just off Stonebridge roundabout.

If you have any questions, contact Raksha, but text will be better than a call as I'm not sure what the phone signal will be like on site!
