Our Story

Colebridge Employment & Skills works to improve opportunities for local people in Chelmsley Wood and the surrounding area, by creating meaningful work experience opportunities.

Colebridge Employment & Skills is part of Colebridge Trust a charity operating in the borough of Solihull 15 years. We have been successfully working with individuals during this time who are perceived as being the furthest from employment, including learning disabled, over 50s, those with physical disabilities and mental health issues, lone parents and young people with poor attainment.

The people we support arrive with multiple barriers to employment, including poor mental health, disability, poverty and little to no support from friends and family. Many of them have tried working with larger service providers and have not been able to secure employment or work experience, sometimes due to poor attainment at school or the length of time that they have been unemployed. This can result in low confidence, so Colebridge also work to help change attitudes and perceptions.
