Martineau Gardens is a place where people, plants and wildlife meet. Our mission is to inspire people about the natural environment. We also provide volunteering opportunities in the garden and are a venue for educational activities and courses. rtineau Gardens is the registered charity that manages the gardens and wildlife area. We are a Community Garden, a Social Enterprise and a Visitor Attraction. Our beautiful community garden is two and a half acres in size, organically managed and you'll find lots to see within this modest space. An orchard, food growing beds, a hot house, wildflower meadow, a wildlife area (with SLINC status), woodland, meandering paths, a bird hide, a children's play area, picnic space and more. We can make you hot or cold drinks for which donations are welcomed (served from the Pavilion). You can pick up a plant or two, buy fresh seasonal produce, local honey, preserves, chutneys, chopped logs and compost. We have many regular volunteers who contribute so much to the gardens. We also have corporate volunteers from local businesses. Our members elect Trustees at the Annual General Meeting to take overall responsibility for the organisation.
