Take a glimpse into a Make a Difference day...

We were delighted to welcome superb volunteers from a range of local businesses to our Umberslade QAC Community Services site for our latest 'Make a Difference' (MAD) day.

A big thank you to the teams. They did an incredible job helping to enhance the site through gardening and general maintenance for our clients, students, and staff.

We recently had a very special visitor to QAC, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Zaker Choudhry. The Lord Mayor learned about all the life changing support QAC offers to its students, and all the fantastic work undertaken by its staff. The Lord Mayor had the chance to meet and greet a number of students in catering, the gym, sports hall and health and social care classroom.

Two of our Student Ambassadors also enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Lord Mayor and ask him questions, receiving a special invite to the Birmingham Council House! Well done to all involved!

Today, QAC is celebrating World Teachers Day, and we wanted to take the opportunity to recognise and thank our tutors for the incredible work they do.

Assistant Principal, Steven commented, “The positive impact you have on our students is not just in the classroom, you help build skills and increase confidence so that they are successful away from Queen Alexandra College and will continue to be successful after they leave here and move onto their next steps.”

Last night QAC marketing's Ed and Cathryn from Fundraising went to The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) Awards to support the amazing Briony, as she was shortlisted under Marketing, Sales, and Communications.

Whilst she didn't go on to win in the category, we are incredibly proud of all her hard work and support at the college and beyond.

What a gem! Well done Briony!
