We went to thank the amazing brave West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Police teams that have been at the site rescuing vulnerable people and keeping everyone safe.
This site has been derelict for many years and needs urgent attention from the owners. In a neighbourhood with the highest levels of youth unemployment, it’s unforgivable that this important site has sat idle for many years.
In the new year, I will be inviting Birmingham City Council West Midlands Combined Authority West Midlands Police West Midlands Fire Service Soho Road BID Nishkam Centre and other key stakeholders to a meeting to discuss how we can ensure that the owners of this site understand the importance of it and the opportunities that it can create. We want to work with and support the owners but want to be clear, it’s time for action.
