Polly Patel is a Support at Home volunteer for Birmingham Hospice ā€“ one of our amazing charity partners šŸ’™

After her close friend was cared for at Birmingham St Maryā€™s Hospice, Polly has been volunteering with the charity for seven years.

This Volunteers Week, weā€™d like to highlight the incredible work done by volunteers like Polly each and every day. From Three Local Charities Lottery, a massive thank you goes to all volunteers, especially those who do their bit for the causes we support.

One of our incredible charity partners, Birmingham Hospice, has opened a brand new community cafĆ© in the heart of Erdington! šŸ©·

Hive in the Park is based in the historic Rookery House in Rookery Park, and offers great value breakfasts, lunches, sweet treats and childrenā€™s food.

Birmingham Hospice, formerly John Taylor Hospice, has been part of Erdington since 1910, and the new cafƩ is an extension of the relationships and connections it has built over the years, providing a warm and friendly space for local people to enjoy.

The cafƩ is dog-friendly, and a great place to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat while learning more about the fantastic work the hospice does.

Congratulations to the Birmingham Hospice team for creating such a wonderful community space!

A huge well done to everyone who took part in the TCS London Marathon last weekend! šŸ‘

Weā€™re so proud of those who ran in support of our charity partners, Acorns Children's Hospice, Birmingham Hospice and Focus Birmingham.

Focus Birmingham also highlighted how positive it was to see more accessibility in place this year, including support runners, sensory calm spaces, BSL support and accessible viewing spaces. šŸ™Œ

What an incredible achievement and an inspiring way to make a difference to people right here in our community!
