Al Hikma

Al Hikma Al Hikma Media from its onset has remained a non-profit making organisation in which our volunteers aim to organise free islamic events

Al Hikma, meaning Wisdom, was born from the work and aspirations of a number of daees involved in Islamic Societies (ISOCs) and community outreach dawah projects. This was conducted with the guidance / support from a range of ullema and daees. Al Hikma activities to date are delivered with the involvement and consultation of scholars or their students of knowledge. This guidance acts as an anchor

ensuring that the public work of Al Hikma remains focused and within the boundaries of Islam. Al Hikma Media from its onset has remained a non-profit making organisation in which our volunteers work feesabilillah (for the sake of Allah) in the attempt to fulfil their obligation of promoting Islam and to attain the pleasure of Allah (swt). All of our members are either students or have professional jobs – none of our members take a salary from Al Hikma. This assists in ensuring that the volunteer’s sole intentions of their dawah work are for the deen and not for any financial benefit. Alhamdulillah, Al Hikma Media has the policy of attempting to follow the Prophetic approach in not charging the public entrance fees to Islamic dawah events. Al Hikma wants to encourage people to attend and benefit from their dawah events and breakdown any financial barrier that may discourage them. Thus, this policy has aided in removing financial barriers that may deter some people (especially students) wanting to learn or be inspired by Islam but not have the financial means to do so. To date, all of our conventions, speeches and debates have had a free entrance policy. This policy makes the dawah work very difficult as high costs are incurred. The continuation of this approach can only be maintained by your generous donations, sponsorships and most importantly - duas. The purpose of the organisation is to serve the Muslim community by making available a range of services for the promotion of Islam in the hope to influence and encourage betterment in individuals and society at large. The objective is to simply engage in activities seeking the pleasure of Allah (swt). Al Hikma have delivered and assisted other organisations in the delivery of many events over the past few years. Much of our work does not necessarily bare Al Hikma’s name. Our concern is in delivering the work needed for the deen at the grass root and strategic levels regardless of what banner it is executed under. The call is not necessarily to the organisation; rather the call is to Islam, regardless of which organisation is serving it. Al Hikma Media has a range of advisors, each qualified with expertise in specific areas of deen. The advantage of not being financed by any government and not being a sectarian organisation has allowed people from different backgrounds to work with Al Hikma in different areas. Having years of building effective working relationships with a range of organisations, has helped us develop excellent networks and we attempt to utilise this by unifying the various Islamic activities being executed by Muslims.
