⭐ THANK YOU ⭐ for choosing Birmingham Settlement as the benefactor for Stuart Maconies Big Summer Quiz!

A whopping £1,300 was raised getting our Green Barn crowdfund off the ground!

A huge thanks to all those that came along, bought raffle tickets and helped make it such a good night. Thanks again also to for donating raffle prizes.

It's been a particularly tough summer and we have been doing all we can to help keep trees, plants and wildlife sustained as we deal with the extreme heat and lack of rainfall.

We've been heartened by the care of voulunteers working alongside us including lots of new volunteers joining our Friends of the Field group, showing up for their neighbourhood in a positive way.

Volunteers have also been pickling our homegrown beetroot and creating a stumpery for insects, funghi and wildlife.

Thank you to everyone working alongside us!

We're excited to be hosting a magical morning of moths! 🌕

Gather round to unbox the overnight moth trap - discover the species found by the urban oasis of Edgbaston Reservoir.

Enjoy bottomless fresh coffee (teas also available) and take part in a small moth craft if you fancy!

We will identify our finds and register them on the National Moth Recording Scheme before releasing them back to nature.

This event is being run as a small fundraiser for our Green Barn Crowdfund – we appreciate donations (suggested £10, via Eventbrite or directly to our Crowdfunder on the day). However, we don’t want this to put anyone off so we appreciate whatever you can!

FAMILY CAMP OUT DAY TWO! ⛺🏕🔦

After a nocturnal bat walk around the Reservoir and hot chocolate round the campfire, we bedded down for the night.

As dawn broke the call the birds on the water began. We enjoyed a breakfast of freshly harvested potatoes fried over the fire alongside toasted croissants and bread, and explored finds in the overnight moth trap!
