After Charlie’s unexpected tracheostomy journey, we know only too well how terrifyingly daunting and scary this is for any parent having to see their child go through this. For Charlie it’s been the most stressful period of his life so far. We couldn’t have got through it without Aisha and the amazing ENT department at B*H
Please take a second to read about how the wonderful staff support every child, along with their parents who are going through this journey and about Raki the Raccoon ❤️
We have donated £500 from the money raised from Charlie’s Never Give Up T-shirts to this inspiring cause hoping this will help towards supporting the care they continue to give ❤️ thank you to everyone that donated enabling us to do this. ###
‘At Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, we believe there’s always more we can do for our sick kids and that’s why we will always strive to do more for our patients and families. It’s our mission to raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to all who use our hospital. Your support empowers us to take innovative approaches to treating some of the sickest children in the UK. Your fundraising enables us to make our hospital feel just like home. Your donations will help us improve our tracheostomy service focusing on the child, parents and families experience and journey. Tracheostomies are life saving artificial airways . We have created a B*H tracheostomy mascot 'Raki the raccoon'. The money raised will enable us to give each child a Raki the raccoon soft toy with it's own tracheostomy , as well as an information booklet for child , parents and families. In time we aspire to develop a supoort network for our children and families, including organising family fun days to bring our children and families together. Any money raised over our target will go towards new ideas all focused on improving the child, parent and family experience.’https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Raki-raccoon-tracheostomy?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
