Edward's Trust

Edward's Trust We have been supporting children, young people and families across the West Midlands since 1989

We have been providing free, qualified and specialist bereavement counselling and wellbeing support to parents, children and young people in the West Midlands for over 35 years 🪁

03/08/2026

Can you help save Edward’s Trust? Here’s our BBC Midlands Today appearance where we talked about our funding crisis and emergency appeal - Without Us.

Without you, we are unable to help thousands of bereaved parents, children and young people, with our counselling, therapies and support groups.

Providing our vital face-to-face services, free at the point of use, has never been more challenging.

Over the past year, we’ve seen rising costs, changes in charitable giving and difficulties in rebuilding our fundraising team. Our new fundraising team is focused on sustainable income streams for the long term, but our current funding gap threatens the future of our service. We must resolve this now.

Our ‘Without Us’ emergency appeal and aim to raise at least £200,000 over the next 6 months.

Without you, we cannot help them.

We don’t receive government or NHS funding. Throughout our 37 year history, we’ve been dependent on grants and the generosity of our supporters.

We need you now more than ever.

Meet Holly

Holly is part of the fundraising team at Edward’s Trust.

In 2014, her son Jasper was born and sadly died, after just a few hours. Needing help with her grief, she came to our organisation and we were able to provide her and her family with the support they needed.

Since then, Holly has done incredible things. Along with her family, she set up Jasper’s Rainbow, an organisation to raise money for three chosen charities - one of which is us.

More recently, we’re delighted to have Holly join our team - her energy, her journey and her skills have been welcomed with open arms at Edward’s Trust and she is a credit to our organisation.

Edward’s Trust depends on people doing extraordinary things and there’s none more extraordinary than Holly. She and her family have raised £50,000 and counting spread between their chosen charities.

They realise money for Edward’s Trust because they know the immense, life-changing impact the support of our therapists and counsellors can have on the lives of those grieving the loss of a close family member.

Without you, we can’t help them.

We have just begun our ‘Without Us’ emergency appeal to close our current funding gap.

Your stories are so important.

If you’ve ever received the support of Edward’s Trust, we would love to talk to you. We are looking for previous service users to share their Edward’s Trust experience for use as case studies and testimonials, to support our emergency Without Us appeal.

Why does Edward’s Trust need these?

Stories like yours are a vital part of how a charity like ours - which receives no government funding - can obtain more donations, committed sponsors and grants, so we can do more.

What do you need from me?

There are a couple of ways in which we can do this. We can either have a member of our team arrange a call with you to go through our set of interview questions OR if you’d prefer, you can fill these out by email.

Do I have to go into detail about my story?

Not if you don’t want to - it’s completely up to you. You can provide us with a testimonial or something more in depth. We have created interview questions and put in place a number of protections for you, that keep you in control of this content.

What do I do next?

If you’re happy to let us share your story, drop us a message or send an email to [email protected] and we’ll be in touch.

We want to thank you in advance to those that do come forward - your help is immensely appreciated at this critical time for the charity.

To be in grief can be terrifying, isolating and debilitating…

At Edward’s Trust, we believe that no one should face it alone.

We support parents, children and young people experiencing grief at the loss of a close family member, directly helping 800 people a year.

But right now, our services are at risk

It’s never been more challenging to operate our holistic bereavement support, free at the point of use. Our unique, holistic service offers face-to-face counselling, therapies and support groups.

Without Us

To ensure that our services can continue, we have launched the Without Us appeal to raise at least ÂŁ200,000 over the next 6 months.

We don’t receive any NHS or government funding, we depend solely on grants, public donations and corporate sponsorship to carry out our work.

How can I help?

If you’d like to help us ensure families in the West Midlands don’t face grief alone, head to the link in our bio and click Without Us.

Alternatively, drop us an email to [email protected]

We will always be grateful.”
