Best of luck to who is running the this weekend in aid of Edward’s Trust!

Chris is running in honour of family friends, Jess and Mike, who lost their baby, Charlie, in 2024. Edward’s Trust has provided support to both Jess and Mike to come to terms with their grief.

We have loved seeing Chris’s training updates and we are so grateful for his efforts, helping us to support Jess and Mike, and many other families around the West Midlands.

We wish you all the best for the run and we’re excited to know your run time! (no pressure)

We would like to say a huge thank you to AXA UK and NatWest Group Birmingham who have kindly donated over 70 easter eggs for our service users.

The eggs have been received with great joy and distributed to families throughout the West Midlands who are utilising our counselling services.

Happy Easter to our supporters who celebrate! 🐇 🐣

We are excited to announce a charity of the year partnership with .co.uk .

The team at DrClear will be taking part in lots of different fundraising initiatives over the next year from donating the lost coins in the sofa to a teddy bear car boot and their every mile counts pledge.

The founder Chris states:
‘At DrClear, we work with families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. When we discovered Edward's Trust and the incredible support they provide to bereaved families across the West Midlands, the partnership felt completely natural. We don't just clear homes — we care deeply about the people behind every clearance. Edward's Trust shares that same humanity, and that's exactly why we chose them. Every mile we drive, every clearance we complete, now carries a little more meaning’

Pop over to their page to see all of the incredible fundraising they are doing.

Thank you DrClear for ‘Flying the Kite’

For many families, Mother’s Day is a special day filled with love and happiness. For those who are grieving the death of their mom or mother figure, Mother’s Day can be a very sad and difficult day with intense feelings of sadness, anger and loneliness.

One of our Children and Young Person’s counsellors Tracey has offered some suggestions that we hope will help you to cope with Mother’s Day, both when you are bereaved of your child or of your mom. Read the full blog post here: https://edwardstrust.org.uk/news/navigating-mothers-day-by-tracey-cox-childrens-and-young-peoples-counsellor/

As part of our latest appeal ‘Growing Through Grief’ we have set up a dedication page where you, family and friends can donate and remember loved on this Mother’s Day. Add your dedication via the link: https://growingthroughgrief.dedicationpage.org/

If you or a child/young person you know is struggling with the bereavement of their mom, please do get in touch. Our services are free of charge and come with no strings attached.

Our very own Holly Hawkesford is flying the kite today at the West Midlands Chartered Institute of Fundraising Conference.

She says-

'It's been and inspiring morning so far. I have been listening to a variety of speakers about connecting with the local community and learning lots of new and innovative fundraising initiatives. I can't wait to bring the practices back to Edward's Trust and the fundraising team to continue the growth in our fundraising and supporting bereaved families across the West Midlands'

We would like to say a huge thank you to Raw Material Cover Ltd who have donated ÂŁ550.

The CEO and Founder Matt McCall met two of our fundraising team members Amber and Holly recently at the Birmingham Insurance Institute Annual Dinner and was truly moved by the speech they gave about our vital working supporting bereaved families across the West Midlands.

Matt says:

‘We’re incredibly proud to support a local charity like Edward’s Trust that provides such sincere and meaningful support to families facing bereavement. The work the team does supporting children and families through such difficult times is incredibly important. We look forward to working more closely with the team and supporting the fantastic work they do.’

Thank you Matt and we hope to work with you and your team in the future! 💙đŸȘ
