What a moment to remember! 🏆

The Light Beyond the Shadows took home the Young People’s Film Award at the Recovery Street Film Festival 2026, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Seeing the young people’s art, poems, music and stories come together and then watching their work on the big screen at the Phoenix Theatre in Leicester was such a special moment.

A massive congratulations to everyone who contributed to the project. Thank you for sharing your creativity, your ideas and your voices. This award is a brilliant recognition of everything you created 💙✨

Last Friday we hosted our 13th Annual Recovery Conference bringing together the people we support. This year's theme took centre stage - Reclaim Your Voice. Rewrite Your Story and it resonated even more so throughout the day.

We were joined by Gary Dawson from the Spinal Injuries Association, who shared openly about his recovery journey. We also heard from Elizabeth Turner from Hike2Heal Recovery - who was honest and very open about her journey. Both were truly inspirational to everyone.

Georgie Challen-Crossan a Peer Mentor Apprentice with Crossroads part of Waythrough raw story really echoed across the room. Other personal stories then followed from our amazing volunteers, Tammy, Mark, Andrew and Steve. They spoke from the heart and brought meaning to what recovery looks like in real life which was very empowering to listen to.

To close the day, Primal Sound led a calming and uplifting boomwackers session, using rhythm and relaxation techniques to bring everyone together. Thank you for leading on that Sarah!

Thank you to everyone who attended across our partnership organisations. You truly made it a brilliant and enjoyable day for all those we support. 💜 A huge thank you to our lovely comperes for the day, Stacey and Jason you two were absolutely amazing.
