In August, 15 children and their parents were invited to take part in a special play session at the Sports & Community Centre! 💜

As part of a collaborative research project 'The Power of Loose Parts Play (POLPP), led by UCL and the Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC), the session focused on exploring children's interactions with loose parts materials - aiming to understand how such play supports early learning and development. 👏

Research methods included observations with loose parts materials and play interactions with peers and adult carers, informal conversational interviews with children about their play experiences, and the graphic illustration of children's lived experience during play. 💡

Community Action Worker Lou said: "Children are very inquisitive and giving them something that challenged their mind whilst being fun is a great way to build confidence, resilience, and keenness to redo over again - using play breaks many barriers when children lack confidence, understanding, or ability."

Take a look at what we have been growing lately at our centres 🤩💜

Thanks to funding from King Charles III Charitable Fund Coronation Food Project, we have been growing lots of fruits and vegetables at both the Sports & Community Centre and Nature & Wellbeing Centre! 👏

Thank you to our volunteers as part of our Friends of the Field and Garden & Grow groups for working hard planting, caring for, and harvesting the food. 🌎

You will:
💡 Deliver high-quality, specialist debt and welfare benefit advice to a wide range of clients.
🚹 Work as part of a long-established, professional team to provide a holistic service that promotes financial inclusion and builds money management skills.
✍ Have great talking, listening, and customer service skills.

Thank you to everybody who joined us at Stride for the Settlement on Saturday! 💜

We had over 80 of you making your journey around the Edgbaston Reservoir, whether walking or running 5k or 10k 🤩

Everybody did an amazing job, from fundraising to finish line, helping us to raise vital funds towards helping us build our new Green Barn sheltered activity space. 🏡

We hope to make Stride for the Settlement an annual event, so watch this space for the next one 👀
