Earlier this week, a lady received an email that many would celebrate.

She had been successfully shortlisted for an audition taking place this weekend in Birmingham.

But instead of excitement, fear took over.

She replied to the organisers and asked that her timeslot be given to someone else.

Her reason?

“I feel like I need more confidence first.”

Pause for a moment.

This was not a woman without talent.
Not a woman without potential.
Not a woman without opportunity.

This was a woman with ability… but without confidence.

And she is not alone.

Recent studies show that 79% of women in the UK regularly struggle with self-confidence when speaking up at work or operating in their roles.
32% describe lack of confidence as a major obstacle to achieving their career goals.

Think about that.

How many opportunities have quietly slipped away — not because of lack of competence, but because of hesitation?

This is exactly why Public Speaking For Today’s Woman exists.

This learning experience was established to help women build authentic confidence, find their voice, and communicate with clarity and strength — whether in the boardroom, marketplace, classroom, or creative space.

You do not need “more confidence first.”

You build confidence by stepping into rooms that stretch you.

This year’s edition takes place:

📍 London – 3rd March
📍 Birmingham – 5th March

If you know there is more inside you waiting to be expressed… this is your moment.

The new year often feels like a fresh season — a gentle invitation to care for our bodies 💪, reconnect with people 👥, and rediscover joy 🎶. One beautiful place where all of this comes together is The Fitness Choir.

As part of the Health and Music Project, organised by i60 Community Interest Company, and supported by Erdington Neighbourhood Network Scheme, The Fitness Choir brings together the rhythm of movement and the harmony of wellbeing 🎵. You move to the groove, exercise at your own pace, and take part seated or standing — whatever works best for you.

And guess what?
It’s more than fitness. It’s community ❤️

From keeping active and lifting our spirits, to recently performing at Britain’s first-ever Nativity Musical in an African language, Abi Olugbala, and now working on our upcoming album single “Showers of Blessing” ☔✨, there is never a dull moment. Above all, you’ll find a warm, friendly, and welcoming group where no one feels left out 🤗.

Many of us were never taught that staying well is easier — and more joyful — when we do it together.

Thanks to the generous support of Erdington Neighbourhood Network Scheme, admission and all sessions are completely FREE 🎉

Abi Olugbala Nativity Musical started with an uplifting chant that got everyone inspired and involved. The chant beautifully blends English with Yoruba. Visit https://www.tanmole.org/ to learn more about our year-round activities. .
