Birmingham City Council has signed a deal with Keon Homes to deliver 95 new affordable homes on the site of the former Tower Ballroom in Edgbaston. The development will include a mix of apartments and family homes for social rent and shared ownership — helping more Birmingham families access high‑quality, energy‑efficient housing.

Alongside the new homes, the plans will transform the area with:
🌿 A fully accessible public walkway and square
🏞️ Enhanced landscaping along the water’s edge
🏛️ Refurbishment of the Grade II listed Reservoir Lodge into a new community hub

Construction is expected to begin in early 2027 and forms part of the Council’s wider ambition to deliver 2,000 homes each year and regenerate key sites across the city.

Great news … well done Birmingham Settlement

Great news! 💜

We are grateful to have received a grant from the National Lottery, which will help us continue providing even more activities and events that boost biodiversity and improve our local communities in Ladywood and Kingstanding ✨

Pictured are some of our amazing staff and volunteers at the Nature & Wellbeing Centre Red Shed Community Cafe, who are excited to put this grant to good use in improving the space and offering activities such as food growing education, composting, reusing / recycling, and much more. 🌍

Make sure to follow our centre pages and keep your eyes peeled for updates!
