⚠️ CASE UPDATE ⚠️

LEE OGBURN

At the hearing on 13th May, 2025, Lee Ogburn pleaded guilty and was sentenced as follows;

🔸Court Costs: The defendant must pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £187.00 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

🔸Suspended Sentence: This is a custodial sentence of 24 months that he will be made to serve if he is found to commit another offence during the next 24
months.

🔸Rehabilitation Activity Requirement: The defendant must comply with any instruction to attend appointments or to participate in any activity, as required by their responsible officer for 25 days. This is a criminal record and it is designed to prevent re-offending. If an offender fails to comply with this Order, they can be presented back before the Court

🔸Alcohol Abstinence Monitoring Requirement: This Order requires offenders to abstain from alcohol for a period of 90 days stipulated by the court. The defendant will be required to wear a special ankle tag which can detect whether alcohol has been consumed and this tag will perform around- the-clock monitoring to ensure compliance with order. If an offender fails to comply with this Order, they can be presented back before the Court.

🔸Unpaid Work Requirement: As part of the Community Order, the defendant must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, which offenders complete for the community in their own time. This is designed to be demanding, but to benefit other people and deter re-offending. If an offender fails to comply with this Order, they can be presented back before the Court.

🔸Sex Offender Register: The defendant is required to register with the Police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for a period of 10 years. If an offender fails to comply with this Order, they can be presented back before the Court.
