Our member orgs are from communities in areas of the city with 💔 child poverty rates. For the past 10 yrs, we've been relentless in campaigning on the top issues affecting them: housing, safety & work: https://lnkd.in/emnRqN7b

In the below short Sky news clip Tom Snape & Ark Tindal Primary School share some of our worries.

Just last summer in 2022 ahead of the start of the Commonwealth Games we called for fighting child poverty to be part of it's legacy. Setting out specific asks on Housing https://lnkd.in/evrDp92K Work https://lnkd.in/e28FeuQz & Safety https://lnkd.in/errB5Tm4

In recent months we've had serious constructive talks with Birmingham City Council officials over progress on these asks with further actions to follow. We're now going to unpack what this news will mean to the Council's committments going forward.

Two classrooms of children could be locked up in prison-like conditions every day under the Government’s proposed Bill.

We believe children belong in classrooms📚, not in detention centres 🚫

The Illegal Migration Bill is proposing to reintroduce the detention of refugee children.

Today, we were in Parliament Square alongside Refugees Together to take action & call on the gov to 📣
