Session 9 of Black Country Roots and Realities challenged us to think differently about what it means to become real social historians.

Through interactive activities, we explored communication and connection across cultures, before delving deeper into the life of local community champion David Bennett. Working together, we researched his story and created timelines highlighting the moments that shaped his life and the impact he has had on our community.

A day of discovery, teamwork, creativity and learning, bringing local history to life through the eyes of our Young Historians.

For session 8 of Black Country Roots and Realities, we experienced an epic trip to the V&A Music is Black exhibition in London 🎶🎙️

The day was filled with music history, important stories and founding pioneers of the British Music Scene 🔥

A memorable session that helped the group connect with the heritage of Black British Music.

Through interactive activities, the group learnt about the people, places and traditions that shaped the region.
