A huge congratulations to the latest graduates of our Tailoring and Knitting Project!🧶

Through our Family Strengthening Programme, women and men from Kampala’s slums have the opportunity to take part in practical training. In just 4 months, participants develop valuable vocational skills and prepare to start income-generating ventures of their own.

Our 18th cohort has shown remarkable dedication, embracing every opportunity to learn and grow. We're delighted to celebrate their achievements and can't wait to see them use their skills to create brighter futures for their families☀️

Bonnie* shared: “I had always dreamed of learning tailoring, but the cost was too high, so I gave up on it until Kids Club Kampala came into my life. Now, I’m back on my feet.”

At 10 years old, Samuel* had big dreams but limited opportunities. With his family struggling to cover basic needs and school fees, his future was uncertain. Everything changed when he joined our Child Sponsorship Project and enrolled in Primary 6📚️

From the start, Samuel showed determination and a love of learning. Despite challenges at home, disruptions caused by COVID-19, and battling malaria, he remained focused on his education - excelling in maths and ICT.

This year, at 20 years old, Samuel graduated from technical college with a Certificate in Plumbing. While seeking employment, he is gaining valuable work experience at a water supply company and hopes to continue his studies with a Diploma in Engineering🔧

Samuel's journey is a powerful example of how sponsorship can transform uncertainty into opportunity. Could you help another child like Samuel turn their dreams into reality? Today is the Global Day of Parents💛

We’re celebrating parents and caregivers everywhere, and recognising the vital role families play in every child’s life. Whether connected by birth or by choice, parents provide children with care, stability, and a sense of belonging.

At our Ewafe Project, we work to ensure children can grow up in family-based care through family reintegration and foster care placements - because every child deserves the chance to thrive in a loving home.

In February, Amelie* was welcomed into a loving family who promised to support and care for her as one of their own. She shared: “I used to sell soap, and I couldn’t have enough time to go to school. But now, am happy that I am back in school.”

John* grew up without parental care, but he was not alone. With the help of The Mango Tree Kenya, he accessed consistent support that enabled him to complete secondary school📚️

Wanting to give back to his community, he recently began volunteering as an office assistant at a local hospital. Through this experience, he has developed computer and communication skills while gaining confidence in a professional environment.

He shared: “This journey has helped me find direction. I now know where I’m going and why it matters.”

Through the Learning and Skills for Life Project, we are helping hundreds of young people like John discover their potential. Learn more about this project on our website: https://www.kidsclubkampala.org/educating

Happy International Day of Families! On this important day, we’re celebrating the meaning of family in all its shapes and sizes with a special story from our Ewafe Project...

Joseph* (8 ), Haroon* (14), Hamza* (14), Amani* (16) and Hazel* (17) are siblings. In 2020, the children became homeless when their father abandoned the family and sold their home. They moved around with their mother and lived with different relatives, but none of them were able to provide long-term care for 5 children. Unfortunately, the children had to turn to begging for food and money to survive. Later that year, they were referred to the Ewafe Project, where they were able to stay together in a safe place.

This February, the children were successfully reunited with their grandfather, who expressed appreciation to Kids Club Kampala for the care and educational support provided to the children during their stay at the Ewafe home💛
