Over the last few days a total of 1,276kg of harvest donations were delivered to our Aston centre and to the warehouse, from individuals, schools and churches. At a time when many foodbanks including ours, are experiencing financial challenges it is immensely encouraging to be supported so generously. THANK YOU ALL!

💚 How lovely that one of our regular supporters Eversheds Sutherland have set up a just giving page to raise much needed funds for our foodbank. We are really seeing the delayed effects of the cost of living crisis, donations have dropped and funding is at an all time low, so support like this is essential for us to keep our doors open. Thank you Chris Mills and the Eversheds Sutherland team 💚

Congratulations to former Aston & Nechells Foodbank volunteer Heather Buckingham on the release of her new book! Highly recommended reading!

📚 NEW BOOK RELEASE: Imagine a future without the need for food banks.
We are proud to share A Taste for Change: How to Build a Food Bank Free Future by Heather Buckingham.
Drawing on powerful statistics and deeply personal stories from the Trussell community, this vital new book uncovers the root causes of food insecurity. More importantly, it offers a hopeful, practical roadmap toward a society where everyone has enough to eat.
Whether you are an activist, a volunteer, or simply someone who believes in a fairer world, this is a must-read.

🆘ACCENTURE TO THE RESCUE🆘
We recently did our annual stocktake, and when the company that were going to help had to pull out at the last minute, I emailed Bally at Accenture with a panic plea for help! Within 24 hours Bally had a team of 3 great volunteers to come and help us out. Hafsah, Nisha and Alex came along to the warehouse and helped date, move and sort food for us. A special thanks to Hafsah who wouldn't leave until the job was done 🌟. She helped us move 2 full pallets of juice, milk and tins into the warehouse after an already long day of sorting.

Thank you Accenture for your ongoing support, we really do appreciate you. 🥳

Sadly, some youngsters’ school backpacks are much heavier than their classmates.
We do hope the start of the new academic year starts well for you and yours!

One parent who came to the foodbank last September said ‘I’m here ‘cos I had to buy
the kids school shoes last week. I managed to feed the kids but I didn’t have anything to eat myself. I told them I wasn’t hungry. I had to get shoes. People at school can see my kids in shoes but they can’t see if I’m hungry.’’
