Last week we held a Parent vs Explorer backwoods cooking evening 🪵
The young people definitely won with the flint and steel 😅

Together we cooked fajitas in foil, jacket potatoes, beans in a tin, and chocolate bananas — all over an open fire.

We also spent time discussing some exciting changes coming to the Unit, future plans, and the Explorers’ ambition to complete their Explorer Belt 🌍

A huge thank you to all the parents who came along and supported the evening. It was great to see so much engagement, with several parents already showing an interest in helping out in the future 🙌

It just goes to show that getting parents involved in Scouting not only helps support the Group, but also encourages new volunteers and strengthens what we can offer our young people.

This weekend, one of our Explorers has been fundraising for their World Scout Jamboree adventure with a hugely successful jumble sale 🌍⚜️

It’s been amazing to see fellow Explorers and parents from Laser coming together to support her journey 💜

Today’s the day! ✨
A jumble sale organised by one of our Explorer Scouts is happening this afternoon — and there are plenty of bargains waiting to be found 👀

Come along to Kings Heath Community Centre between 2–4pm today and enjoy the thrill of the rummage… you never know what treasures you’ll uncover! 😊

Yesterday we hit the water to refresh our powerboating skills and learnt some new ones too 🚤💨

We even had a go at man overboard rescues and experienced planing for the first time — definitely a highlight! 🙌

Loads of enthusiasm, great peer support, a bit of friendly competition, and plenty of smiles all round 😄👏

At one with nature 🌿
This week, we headed into the great outdoors and took on a creative nature photography challenge 📸. Using only items we found in our surroundings, we worked together to spell out our Unit name.
A great mix of teamwork, creativity, and fresh air 🌳

Thank you to the team at .clothing for hosting a great craft session for us last week 🙌

We designed and produced our own Scout themed mugs, filled with memories and messages to inspire others. Looking forward to using them when we, along with , return to our HQ 🏕️
