Did you know that Winnr don't just do boxing?!
As well as running our established youth clubs in Smiths Wood, Hatchford Brook and Dickens Heath, Winnr have been busy developing, delivering and supporting new activities in our community.
Over the past couple weeks we've:
🍽 Provided weekly hot meals for vulnerable residents in North Solihull, signposting them for additional support through Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council 'Here2Help' Scheme
🥊Launched our new young persons space and doubled the attendance at our community boxing sessions (especially our 7 - 12 year old session
💻 Supported several young people to access e-learning modules and volunteering opportunities to enhance their CV and employability
🧦 Donated new sports socks to Think Active CSW 'Free to Move' community clothing initiative in Smiths Wood
👷♀️Attended Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council Apprenticeship Roadshow, where we obtained lots of information to share with young people who couldn't attend
🏃♀️Participated in an exciting 'Place Partnership' meeting, working together together to use to improve and in
👮🏻♀️Attended a residents meeting in where we were able to signpost residents not only to our own activities but also to other organisations in the local area
🚸 Had some great conversations about how we can work together to improve opportunities for young people in Solihull
🤗 Welcomed lots of people to visit our young persons space and boxing gym, including Madam Mayor Annette Mckenzie, Saqib Bhatti MBE and Karen Grinsell
We have some exciting developments that we'll share soon, but in the meantime, we look forward to delivering more activities, meeting and welcoming more people to our youth space.
