A week of retrofit model house pop ups in local parks across Balsall Heath

Gather from 11am in Balsall Heath Park for park litter pick, banner carrying practice and the MECC Trust purple bus will be on hand with info about the Warm Homes Local Grant, we will set off 12 noon via Taunton Rd, Roshven Rd and Clifton Rd… carrying our new Retrofit Balsall Heath banner Thakoordin and The GAP Arts Project Believe in Balsall Heath banners. We plan to arrive at Seven Streets Park opposite Balsall Heath City Farm 12.30 for community activities and including Retrofit Balsall Heath’s celebratory flag making workshop, and refreshments, we will set off again 13.30 via Clifton Rd, crossing Moseley Rd, turning right down Homer St to arrive George St Park 14.00 for a performance of our retrofit model house 🏡 Three Little Pigs 🐷🐷🐷 and the Fossil Fuel Wolf 🐺 street/park drama. Joined by Extinction Rebellion Birmingham ‘s Bumbeats drummers 🥁🥁 we’ll set off 15.00 with banners, flags and the house to process down Edward Rd to square on corner Edward Rd/Court Rd by MECC offices for refreshments ChangeKitchen CIC and Retrofit Q&A Brumbeats will round off our procession with a FREE Beginners Drumming Workshop in Calthorpe Park 15.30-16.30 Join us, carry a banner, make a flag, learn about home insulation & how to outsmart the Fossil Fuel Wolf, bang a 🥁 enjoy our parks and green spaces Our Garden - Sacred Spaces of Balsall Heath

Our team is going to be in Spark Green Park 2.30-4.30pm this afternoon chatting to local residents about - improving homes so they are comfortable and healthy to live in in all seasons: hot and cold. AND we are going to be premiering a new version of our street/park drama: “The three little pigs”🐷🐷🐷 and how they can outsmart the Fossil Fuel Wolf 🐺 Come and join us. Our Retrofit Procession traversing east to west across Balsall Heath on Sunday 5 July sets off from Balsall Heath Park at 12 noon. Our first stop at 12.30pm will be at Seven Streets Park on Clifton rd where Balsall Heath City Farm is hosting free activities for all the family. Retrofit Balsall Heath is offering a celebratory flag making activity. Join the procession from the start or from here on having made a 🎉 flag. Believe in Balsall Heath
