Imagine a day without reading.....

Maybe you're going out this weekend. Meeting friends. Figuring out how to get there, timings of buses or trains. What route to take and where to park.

Getting out and about is more complicated if you struggle to read.

You can help us reach more adults who want to learn to read. Visit our website to learn more.

We would like to say a very big "thank you" to Birmingham National Education Union for their generous donation to our Read Easy UK groups across Birmingham 💙🧡💙

Your gift will enable us to train volunteer reading coaches and to purchase reading manuals to support adult readers within our community.

As voluntary groups we rely heavily upon the generosity of organisations and individuals like you to support us. THANK YOU 🧡💙🧡

Be a record breaker 💙🧡💙

Ten minutes. That's all it takes to be part of a world record.

On Thursday 8th October, the National Literacy Trust and the British Council are attempting a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most people reading online in 12 hours. People will be taking part all over the world.

Here's what you actually do. Sign up, join a free online session, listen to a few authors, then read for ten minutes. Anything you like. To yourself. That's it — you're part of the record.

Sessions run all day for every age group, so it works for the whole family. Do it with your children, with your grandchildren, with your book group, or on your own with a brew.

Read Easy Wolverhampton will be taking part, and so will Read Easy UKWe'd love you with us.

👉 Sign up here: https://literacytrust.org.uk/events/take-10-record-attempt/

One thing worth knowing — National Literacy Trust will email your joining link and it can take up to 48 hours to arrive, so sign up today rather than Wednesday night.

And please share this one. Ten minutes is a small ask, and the more of us reading at the same moment, the bigger the record gets.

Today is International Coffee Day so enjoy choosing your favourite cuppa ☕️

With so much choice it can be overwhelming but imagine how much more difficult it is for adults unable to read.

Here at Read Easy we want to change this by supporting people with free one to one coaching.
