🎤🎶 The King was in the building! 🎶🎤

Residents and staff at Robert Harvey House enjoyed an afternoon of singing, dancing and plenty of smiles as we welcomed a fantastic Elvis tribute act.

Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, sparking memories and creating moments of joy. From toe-tapping classics to full-on dance floor moves, everyone had a fantastic time.

A huge thank you to our entertainer for helping us create such a memorable day for our residents.

BCOP is proud to help share this powerful and deeply moving production exploring the experiences of older LGBTQ+ people in care and later life.

Presented by Artemis Theatre Company and The Hearth Centre, At the Rainbow’s End is based on real interviews with older LGBT people who have experienced homophobia and transphobia in care settings and while receiving care at home.

This script-in-hand performance is funny, heartbreaking, thought-provoking and incredibly important. The afternoon also includes a Q&A with the writer and guest panellists.

🎟 Tickets are “Pay As You Choose”

“Wow, wow, wow, what a powerful and moving piece of work. Exceptional.”
“Funny, tragic, sad, insightful and really well put together.”

🎶 What a fantastic afternoon at Neville Williams House!

Residents, families and staff came together to celebrate BCOP’s 80th anniversary with a wonderful afternoon of music, dancing and laughter.

From the Charleston and jive to rock n’ roll, reggae and the Twist, our live DJ kept the dance floor busy all afternoon — and there were plenty of smiles as everyone joined in the fun. The home looked amazing with themed decorations, banners and bunting throughout, while delicious cakes, snacks and refreshments helped keep the celebrations going.

A special “Last Waltz” for Libby made the day even more memorable as we celebrated her retirement alongside this important milestone year for BCOP.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the afternoon so special 💙

The refreshed signs feature our distinctive BCOP branding, including the pink heart designs inspired by artwork created by our nursing home residents — helping every scheme feel connected to the wider BCOP community.

New signage has been installed at:
🏡 Whitley Court
🏡 Edgcumbe Court
🏡 Harvey Court
🏡 Yeoman Hopkins
🏡 Wiggin Cottages
🏡 Newman Court
🏡 Emma Ball Homes
🏡 Frew Lodge
🏡 Walford Turner Homes

The durable, weatherproof signs and noticeboards were designed and installed by City Signs and are helping our schemes look smart, welcoming and easy to find for residents, visitors and families alike.

What does the King’s Speech mean for adult social care?

This week’s parliamentary agenda included major plans for health and public services — but many in the care sector were left concerned about the lack of urgency around adult social care reform.

As a member of the National Care Forum, BCOP supports calls for clearer action, better integration between health and care, and long-term support for the people who rely on care services every day.
