Our Halloween Zumbathon is coming to Zoom on
📅Friday 30 October at 6.45pm.
💻Join us from anywhere for 45 minutes of music, movement and frightfully good fun—all while supporting children in hospital.

It is £5 per person, with entry into our prize draw included. Book your place and come dance with us! 🕺👻

Summer fun on the wards continues as we are officially in week 1 of the half term school holidays.

Wacky 🤪 Wednesday has rolled round again and we had a fabulous time on the wards visiting patients and families

Volunteers Negin and Emily were shining on the radio giving lots of shoutouts to our families on the ward.

Volunteers Jen and Aamir hit the ground running with our Lollitrollie playing some fabulous Disney music tunes on the wards.

We also visited Sophie on the newly refurbished Disney themed ward at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. She was showing Volunteers Rosie and Pam her amazing loom band bracelet making skills. She was quicker than her mum at loombands so she had to give a quick master class whilst her shoutout and song request was on the radio. We love Zara Larson! What a fab song choice. Sophie was also making bracelets for other people on her ward which was lovely 🥰.

We visited Faith, who was an absolute superstar. She was telling us she can play the electric guitar so of course we had to get her a song request on the radio. Happy by Pharrell Williams was definitely a good vibe! Faith was also showing us her amazing painting and teddy collection. Of course we had to get a snap with the nurses, Volunteer Rosie, Faith, her mum, the amazing nurses called Abbie and Nicola.

Faith’s teddy collection was on full display. In the photo there is Charlie bear who is 13 years old, Noodles who is 14 years old, Smiley who is 8 years old, Buttercup who is 2 years old. There was also Bugs Bunny who is the newest member of the teddy bear collection, a present from Faith’s mum for after Faith’s surgery 🫶. It was lovely to hear Faith’s family talk about how proud they are of her 🥰. Team Radio Lollipop are proud of you too Faith and all the other wonderful patients/ families at Birmingham Children’s Hospital ❤️🤩.

🎉 A fantastic new addition for the children and families supported by Radio Lollipop Southampton! 🎉

This week Radio Lollipop Southampton has officially launched its brand-new LolliTrollie – a specially designed mobile entertainment and sensory unit that will help bring smiles, comfort and fun to children receiving treatment at Southampton Children’s Hospital.

Costing £12,000 and made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters, the LolliTrollie is packed with bubbles, disco lights, fibre optics, music, karaoke, games and sensory equipment. It allows volunteers to take play and entertainment directly to the bedside, helping children of all ages and abilities, including those with sensory needs.

For more than 32 years, the amazing volunteers at Radio Lollipop Southampton have been supporting children and families during some of their toughest moments. This latest addition will help create positive distractions, reduce anxiety and bring moments of joy to around 2,500 children every year.

A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Here’s to many more smiles, laughter and unforgettable moments for the children and families who need them most. ❤️🎈

Meet K Pop super fan Eden and her mum Amy 🍭❤️

Eden and her mum spent some time hanging out during Wacky Wednesday with volunteers Pam and Aimee 🩷✨.

Volunteer Aimee realised she had a name twin in Eden’s mum (but they spell it differently!) which was fun! Eden absolutely loved volunteer Pam’s pink nails. They matched with one of Eden’s favourite things- Barbie 💅

Eden and her mum had a dancing session with our volunteers to some K pop and Sodapop. Eden has got all of her friends at school into K Pop since she loves it so much. We loved hearing about Eden’s favourite songs so of course radio presenters Kara and Emily got Eden a shoutout and a couple of requests on the radio🩷🩷🩷

What a fun time! Eden and her mum even posed for a picture with a trusty Radio Lollipop essential- a balloon. One of the shiny balloons was Eden’s favourite 🫶 🎈. Of course for this picture all of Eden’s teddies had to get in on the action! We do love a good teddy collection. Eden’s teddy collection was very impressive ❤️🥰🫶.

Thank you to Eden and her mum for being so excited about what we do at Radio Lollipop and getting involved with our dancing antics 🤪🤪🤪.

Another successful week having lovely chats with lots of different families whilst spreading Radio Lollipop joy 🤩

Meet Amazing Albie and family ❤️👶

Albie and his amazing family stole the hearts of volunteers Pam and Aimee during ward visiting with how welcoming they were and excited they were about our radio.

In the usual Radio Lollipop tradition we played with some balloons 🎈 using one of Albie’s favourite colours- red whilst volunteers chatted with the family and took some family snaps.

Albie loves the film Zootopia with its Shakira theme song so of course he got a massive shoutout on the radio from presenters Kara and Emily on Wacky 🤪 Wednesday show! Can’t go wrong with a bit of Shakira on Wednesday. Absolute tune!

We love seeing every family, patient, sibling, medical team that we visit each week. Being part of Radio Lollipop is amazing 🤩 🫶🥰

Big thank you to Albie and family for sharing their story with us. It was a privilege to speak with you and we hope Albie enjoyed his Zootopia themed song request on our Wacky Wednesday show❤️❤️❤️

Last week volunteers Lauren and Aimee visited Erica and her mum and they taught everyone all about musicals and sign language 🩷❤️🍭. Erica wanted to share with everyone some of her favourite signs from sign language. Of course Volunteer Lauren wanted to get involved so she became Erica’s trusty sign language teacher assistant for the day. Good job Erica 🫶🫶What is your favourite sign from sign language? 🤟

Our volunteers are here for all the children, patients, siblings and families at Birmingham Children’s hospital even if it is in the middle of the corridor 🫶🫶.

This lovely young lady spotted volunteer Lauren in the corridor with some balloons and wanted to join in on the action 🎈 of course there was lots of fun to be had 🩷❤️
