rthur is an amazing rescue cat who is owned by Elsie, my best friends Nan
Elsie took Arthur (re named after her late husband) in from a very abusive home. But after several months of trust building, love and patience they are now inseparable. Elsie’s husband Arthur, died a few years ago and Arthur has helped fill the whole left, they have literally saved each other, and given life purpose again. Last Tuesday, Elsie put her washing out on the line and as she was walking back into the house she tripped over, and fell badly on the floor, she shouted in pain, and startled Arthur who ran off out the door. Arthur had been kept in because the house a couple of doors away is having building work done, and he doesn't like the banging noises. We spent 2 days and night searching without any luck, obviously scared and hiding from the building and other noises. Last Friday, Elsie had a call from the local vets who had her baby boy in their surgery. He had been taken into them by a lady who had unfortunately hit Arthur with her car after he had run out in front of her. (And We’re so grateful that she was kind enough to take Arthur to the vets.) Arthur has suffered extensive damage and trauma to his back legs, one of Arthur's legs has tendon damage and will heal over time but Arthur's other leg has to be amputated
The vets have said that total vet bill will come to approximately £2'400 providing there are no complications before the coming operation or during it
They said that after the operation, his recovery, and his future is looking very good, he is only young and will heal and adapt very well with 3 legs and lead a happy life. Me, my friend and Elsie have put every penny we can get together and we have £1'240 but Elsie still needs to raise the remainder of the costs. So I have started a GoFundMe page for them and also this page to try and help them. A few people have asked if it would be better (and cheaper) to have him put to sleep! But No, Besides his leg, Arthur is a young and healthy cat who still has many, many years ahead of him. Elsie is inconsolable and blaming herself for falling over through the door allowing Arthur to escape and desperately needs her boy back home. We can't give up on Arthur, he deserves to have a long and loved life. He’s one of the only things keeping Elsie going after losing her husband and he is loved beyond the moon and back. No matter how small, it would mean the world. Elsie knows that money is extremely tight right now so even if a donation isn't possible, we appreciate any shares that you can do for Arthur and all your get well soon thoughts and prayers
