🏄♂️ Out of Office: Padang Padang Beach Flow
With the OOO series being released this Friday , we connected with a Balinese surfer Koki Hendrawan a true Legend to ask what getting out of the office really means to him. For him, it’s not about running away from work — it’s about returning to where he belongs: the ocean.
“I started surfing when I was a kid, just playing around on the beach with my friends,” he says. “The first time I stood up on a wave — that feeling changed everything. I knew I wanted to live close to the sea, always.”
His favorite spot? Padang Padang Beach. “I like the wave there — it’s powerful, clean, and the energy feels different. It’s strong but peaceful, like the ocean talking to you.”
Before paddling into bigger swells, he takes a quiet moment to breathe. “If my heart is calm, the wave will be kind. You can’t fight the ocean — you flow with it.”
Surfing, he says, is more than a sport — it’s a teacher. “It reminds me to stay humble, respect nature, and enjoy every moment. When I’m in the water, there’s no stress, no worry — just freedom.”
When the waves go flat, he still finds rhythm in other ways — yoga, swimming, he shared a passion for running . “It keeps the body strong and the mind ready,” he smiles.
And his advice for anyone chasing that same freedom? “Be patient. Respect the ocean and the people around you. Don’t rush it — the sea will teach you everything in time.”
Because for him, out of office isn’t a break — it’s coming home. 🌺
