Mission Statement

Although young people account for a significant portion of American and European civil society, youth voices have consistently been disproportionately underrepresented in the political decision-making process. Beyond our civil duties as voters, young people barely have a say in determining the future of our societies, forcing us to inherit a world which fails to reflect our values and vision for Europe.

Today, we face an increasingly divided Europe, a political system which fails to reflect its constituents, and an economic system which fails to account for all members of society. This has resulted in crises culminating in right-wing populist agendas, a general decline in public dialogue, and a decreasing interest for mutual understanding and commitment.

Our network of students remains engaged and committed to the European project, respect and affirm the plurality of political life, and thereby opposes populist and nativist impulses to exclude and divide. We are committed to working through differences to realise the principles of international justice and freedom.

Standing against “international nationalism”, our struggle today requires a global framework of learning and working with young people from around the world. We oppose any simplistic embrace of a single theory of European integration: Our vast network is one in which these ideas are to be debated, challenged, deepened, and refined. Bringing diverse voices into a productive conversation, the comparative perspective of young people around the world is invaluable.
