Today we held our first Transition Clinic, supporting young people with cardiac conditions as they move into young adult services.

It was a really positive and successful start. The clinic created an opportunity for young people to begin building confidence, develop an understanding of their condition, and engaging more independently with their care. Feedback from both patients and families was very encouraging, and it was great to see collaborative working across the team.

We’re looking forward to continuing to develop and grow this service.

Today is International Nurses Day. We wanted to take a moment to thank and appreciate all of the wonderful nurses at Birmingham Children's Hospital that treat, care for and go above and beyond for our Heart Warriors ❤️

This morning we have proudly supported National Smile month by donating 146 toothpastes, 104 toothbrushes, 50 heart-shaped mirrors and some dental flosses. Gifted to the Cardiac Dental Team and Cardiac Liason Nurses these will be shared out between Ward 11, Ward 12 and Cardiac Outpatients at Birmingham Children's Hospital to be handed out to help teach our heart warriors how to care for their teeth properly 😁 ❤️

A huge well done to the young dancers at The Dance Academy - Rugeley who held a dancathon earlier in April to fundraise for a defibrillator. Well done everyone involved we are sure it was an amazing, fun day 🩰💃🕺
