Wow what a transformation on a visit to Shanklin 41 club.
This was a club that a few years ago were thinking of disaffiliating and have now completely turned it around a strong link with their Table, they have also adopted the like minded man membership and are a really good strong club,

I joined them for a joint meeting with RT for a sports and barbeque evening sports included axe throwing , archery and poo the potato, a simple game where you hold a potato between your bum cheeks walk a little way and drip it in a bucket.
Simple you say it went literally arse over tit for me as the video proves, no potatoes got hurt during the process but much laughter and p**s taking pursued

Today is National Blood Bike Awareness Day 🏍️❤️

Recognising the incredible Blood Bike volunteers who give their time to provide a vital, free service to the NHS — transporting blood, medical samples, medication and other urgently needed items.

A fantastic charity, powered by volunteers, making a real difference every single day.

Thank you to every Blood Biker out there.

Interesting night last night at Worthing 41 club visit to a race horse stables, several hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of horses on display for us to hear about. Lots of tips from the trainer when to watch for them and where and when to put money on them.
The of course there is this one and that one for sale if you fancy making a syndicate but don’t forget the stable fees and vet bills!

It’s been a busy week lots of miles travelled by car which was hampered by so much traffic, breakdowns on the road and accidents, as well as a short flight.
The week started last Saturday with a long drive, to Wellington in Somerset for their annual barbecue with their partners 48 people in attendance, that’s a lot of burgers and sausages but well done to David Brown and Rod Hamilton King for getting all the cooking done, with thanks to the ladies for all the salad, a great team effort all round.
I also caught up with Tangent President Carol for a chat and shared how our years were running.

Next up was a drive up to Sandhurst to meet a great bunch of guys for a brewery visit to hear how the latest trending craft beers are made in comparison to the more traditional ales, of course there had to be some tasting involved just to make sure the quality control was up to speed.

A short hop round to Gatwick to get a flight across to Guernsey for their annual barbecue with their partners, but not a burger in sight this time a whole pig as we tucked into a hog roast, as well as looking round a private collection of classic cars and of course a Fordson Major completely restored that looked as if it had just come out of the showroom. My favourite vehicle there. You can take the boy out of Norfolk but not the Norfolk out of the boy.

Now home and prepping to help my Round Table with there weekend long beer festival.

Another great visit to Oundle and Trapston to help them celebrate their 40th charter, 20 guys all enjoying the evening, as they have no feeder Table I was pleased to be able to leave them with some ideas to try and recruit some new members to help keep the club going well into the future.
The idea of cluster meetings was also discussed and seem the way forward to increase the local programme, a little guidance and a nudge in the right direction can make big difference to any club

A great night out at Ellesmere and District, wives and partners invited most of whom are in Tangent enjoyed a car treasure hunt collecting items and answering the clues. Somehow I managed to be on the winning team😁

Following the meal I had the honour of inducting Derryk into a club that has a really varied programme that has fun and certainly does Do More

Great night out at Ottery St Mary with Jose Brinkman the new national councillor for region 12 along with Stuart George National Secretary past presidents Terry Cooper and Martin Green for a quiz with a difference about beer, perhaps we prefer to drink it than know all about it as the winning score was 13/20.
Great to meet a club that has well and truly adopted the like minded man to keep them active and enjoying all things 41
