41 Club National President

Wow what a day in the life of a president 6:30am walk into Lingithlow town to meet fellow 41ers from Lingithlow 41 club followed by breakfast at 8 in a pub. Prep talk and we are off for The Marches to visit the boundaries of the town and ensure they are secure. Some sombre moments but a lot more fun ones.

41 Club and Round Table resurrected this event a few years ago when the council stopped it.

A really great community event where the whole town come out to join in and watch the spectacle unfold marching through the town with carnival floats.

Great fun and a few drinks had by all marching with a selection of bands including a military one, a very full day ending at 11:30 and some 28,000 steps completed

A busy week covering a lot of miles.
A charter night with a difference at Bridlington celebrating 20 years of the B41’s all in Hawaiian shirts and ladies in bright colours.

Moving down to Darent Valley for a chat and suggestions on how to revive the club as they have no feeder club.

Then back home for a joint Table and XRT night of all things ceilidh dancing supposedly learning a dance for the upcoming beer festival.

Thursday night was a south coast cluster meeting at Bournemouth with 5 clubs represented and Bournemouth 5 Round Table chairman with others. Guest speaker was Rupert from my chosen charity National Association of Blood Bikes, it was an inspirational talk full of facts and humour as he explained how the association worked, what they transported and from where to where saving the NHS hundreds of thousands of pounds all doing their bit free of charge and keeping the air ambulances stocked with blood.

Another superb weekend of fellowship 35 cars at the 41club car weekend.
Staying at Staley Hall one of our affinity partners as part of Q Hotels.

Helping me set off the cars with the Northumbria flag is Tangent President Carol Hamilton-King
Not sure we went the right way as we ended up opening a gate on the road but driving through Kielder Forest on what was the RAC Rally route back in the day was a great experience.

A really good evening out last night visiting a small club of 12 members that has never had a presidential visit. A really interesting and good conversation across the table about the fact that they have no feeder table and what their future holds. I was able to guide them towards a local cluster meeting which was well received and I am pleased to say I left a reinvigorated club looking to do a bit more and to grow their club.

Friday night at Strangers Club Norwich with the Founders Area Past Area Chairman’s 41 Club, one of my clubs, we are all past area chairmen and we are guaranteed one new member joining the club every year, this year we were pleased to have the newly elected RT area chairman join us, to whom we pledged our support and wisdom as well as offering financial support to help with membership initiatives, as we do each year keeping the link very strong between Table and 41 Club.
I was also honoured in so much that I was also given permission to sit in the club presidents seat for dinner something that is not normally allowed.

Saturday afternoon it was off to Dronfield to meet chairman Howard and celebrate their 50th charter and to hear guest speaker Terry Cooper talk of his life long love of cars. The laughter and banter in the room made this a really special event, along with a generous donation to my charity.

Each year The National President gets to choose a charity. This year my choice is The Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes.
There is nobody paid within the organisation as they are all volunteers from the admin team to the riders and drivers. They transport blood products and samples around the country from hospital to hospital, warehouse to hospital and they keep the air ambulances stocked as well.
Not only blood products are transported as they have joined forces with The Human Milk Foundation, transporting milk. for babies.
