ISLAMIC HELP AFRICA
Islamic Help is a UK based International relief and development agency, established in 2003, working to alleviate the suffering of world’s poorest and most needy communities regardless of race, religion, or nationality. Islamic Help works in over 20 countries, and has been at the forefront responding to major disasters, emergencies, conflicts, refugees and other humanitarian crises around the globe.
The Islamic Help’s journey in Tanzania began with a simple email written by a community activist that led to a few volunteers coming to Mafia Island to support local communities on education, water and sanitation, and sustainable livelihood. Currently, Islamic Help has 35 projects in 7 Coastal Districts in Tanzania.
Islamic Help Tanzania has been working since 2009 mostly in coastal regions of Tanga, Lindi, Mafia and Dar Es Salaam, in the areas of water and sanitation, sustainable livelihood, agriculture and food security, education, orphan care. Our projects have great and measurable impacts on people lives, for instance our water projects daily provide clean and safe drinking water to over 90,000 people in Tanzania.
